Yeah I haven't seen a single video of somebody acting belligerent over a legitimate health concern, they're always just acting like babies because they don't feel like wearing a mask.

And also if anybody DID have a condition that made it impractical to wear a mask, they STILL aren't allowed to waltz in and infect other people with coronavirus by going to public places. The americans with disabilities act says businesses must make reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities.

"Just let me in to shop without a mask" is NOT a reasonable accommodation because it's not reasonable to let them spread the coronavirus and the ADA doesn't grant people with disabilities the right to flaunt mask restrictions.

Here are some examples of reasonable accommodations:

• Allow a person to wear a scarf, loose face covering, or full face shield instead of a face mask;
• Allow customers to order online with curbside pick-up or no contact delivery in a timely manner;
• Allow customers to order by phone with curb-side pick-up or no contact delivery in a timely manner;
• Allow a person to wait in a car for an appointment and enter the building when called or texted; or
• Offer appointments by telephone or video calls.

Wal mart (like most stores) offers at least some of these options. That said, the ADA does NOT protect people without disabilities, so it's irrelevant to most of these stories anyway. Because the people who are raging over mask policies are always just big babies who could easily don a face cover, they just don't want to.

Even if you have an ACTUAL disability and you're protected by the ADA,

You STILL can't just walk in without a mask. The ADA doesn't let people with disabilities spread coronavirus to others. You can expect some form of accommodation like what I listed above, but you can't walk in and put others at risk just because of a health issue of yours.

Also, it's HIPAA, not HIPPA lol

Companies need to have a no tolerance policy with security escorting people out for not wearing a mask. This shouldn't be put on the regular Walmart greeter to enforce this. This dude probably got paid $12 an hour to get his ass beat.

As far as I'm aware all Walmarts in Canada are supposed to have third-party security (like G4S) at the front doors.

They're largely only for show, but they should be the ones doing this, and I thought they were.

I almost saw a fight at a grocery store the other day over mask drama. Two Karens got into a screaming match because one didn't have a mask on their kid. I'm all for wearing masks but some people really need to chill when they see people without masks. Going up to someone and talking shit is in no way going to make the situation better. Of course that doesn't apply when a worker has to ask a customer to put a mask on. He doesn't have much choice and having to deal with people freaking out over that is quite unfortunate.

No it doesn't. HIPAA stops a healthcare provider from giving out personally identifiable health information with out permission. It doesn't apply here at all.
