There are free games topics occasionally, so how about some free books?

https://ebookclub.tor.com/ will be offering Seanan McGuire's Wayward Children series for free, one book each day this week. The books are available in Mobi (Kindle) and ePub (most other devices) formats, all DRM-free.

You do have to sign up for their email newsletter to get the books, but the newsletters are not terribly frequent and some are actually fairly interesting. They also give away at least one free book each month and sometimes more.
