There's several above average reviews that are around 7/10, prompting people to lose their minds. That's about it.

Polygon had a meltdown recently when they devoted a huge chunk of their lengthy Cyberpunk review to criticizing it for not being more pro transgender.

Gamers are basically divided into two camps- one that is rolling their eyes at Polygon and another supportive of Polygon by attacking gamers (like above) for being too immature to handle or talk about this shit, which is the woke gamer equivalent of the meme saying to be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty.

Last of Us 2 will be the most polarizing game for quite some time until there's another game in a huge franchise that dares to be bold and not pander to the "fans", it also had the fact that it was progressive game where you play as a badass lesbian and muscular woman going against it.

The trans stuff is gonna be a footnote for 2077 when people realize how buggy the game is and how rough some of the console versions are. That's gonna be where the controversy has some. They aren't letting reviewers record footage for a reason.

But nothing will compare to TLOU2's shit storm. People get over rough launches if they like the game. TLOU2 turned into a culture war.

TLoU2 is one of the GOATs, IMO, but I can't see any game being as polarizing as it has been for a long while.

as far as Cyberpunk 2077 goes, the issues people seem to have are its bugs, which can hopefully be fixed through patches, and its length.

I wouldn't be surprised if story DLCs come out later on, and by the time it's all said and done, the problems people have with it will be fully addressed.

...with the exception of people who have a problem with first-person, lol.
