So I got my service award gift from work today. Apparently, what I picked isn't actually a laptop but rather a Chromebook.

It's just a tiny little thing but I should be able to play CAH finally. Wednesday is my last day this year then I'm off, so I'll definitely be down for a game with ya'll.

The screen is pretty small, but I still like it.

I can hook up my PS4 controller to it and play games that I'll probably get modded for if I go into more detail. I'm pretty stoked about that.

I've never even heard of the brand before but I know fuck all about these things. I thought a Chromebook was basically the same thing as a laptop. This seems more like a tablet but with a keyboard.

I just realized that it's also a touch screen.

Spoken like a true IT person. I use the cloudy blue theme on my work laptop cause it looks more professional and green on black with my cell phone. Sometimes swap the green for purple when I'm feeling randy.

I have perfect vision too but it does strain your eyes. When i'm in the office by myself, I leave the lights off because those fluorescent lights in the building give me a headache. Pair that with staring at a mostly white screen all day and i'm not happy.

Yeah man. GFAQS didn't used to look like this. Site change about 5 years ago made the default theme blinding as fuck. Idk how people can stand it.

Hell I used to have a Firefox extension that made a dark mode for most sites. Thankfully dark modes are built in these days.

I remember at one job the network team was in a small room and they left the lights off 24/7. Just the light from their monitors. I was jealous sitting there in the middle of July in some bright ass office wearing dress clothes and a tie.

So I've spent the last like 20 or 30 mins playing animal sounds and other sounds on youtube and have been compiling a list of what sleepy Walter responds to.

I had a barn cat that lived here already when I moved in, all of 9 lbs, and would chase down and kill rabbits, and snatch birds out of the air mid flight. The hunting capabilities of that cat for its size were amazing.

When I was forest fire fighting i worked with an old tree faller who was nuts. He was big into hunting cougars with dogs and he swore this 9lb terrier was the ballsiest, most successful dog he ever saw. Said it would tree a cougar single handedly before his other dogs even caught on.

I think some cats and dogs are just like that. Walter is a beast but your old barn cat or my old orchard cat are tougher in a survival sense.

On the one hand he's not even an outdoor cat and he got a mouse down at the dog park... on the other hand he is basically incapable of tracking an object if it leaves his sight briefly.

I honestly don't know what I was gonna say. I dont have to work till new year now so I'm hammered. Thought I had a couple days to go.

He had no interest in being indoors, even in the brutal cold. We tried bringing him in when it was freezing and he just yowled and tore up the drapes. He was likely born outdoors and was strictly a cat that slept in the barn on the property. It only took a week before we had mice, moles, snakes, squirrels left dead on the front doorstep. Just relied on pure instincts and took us into his colony.

Thats what I love about cats. All of em have a shred of that in them. I have no time for people who say letting cats be outdoor animals if they want is cruel to cats or other animals. Its just nature. I feel bad I don't have a safe yard for buds sometimes. Safe in terms of not being cars and roads so close and whatnot.

Most cats really do thrive on that imo.
