Fuck... I am so close to cracking and just buying it digitally. I had a really old online preorder and the mail is going slow as shit and then some here the past month. My PS5 took almost a week to travel like 25~ mins or whatever.

I watched a video about the skill. The guy was saying that the one thing that kind of sucks is that most people would pretty much have to reroll since they didn't know much about the skills, or how they fully worked. Not until they played, that is. Which is true. Not to mention, there are a ton of skills...

For me it wasn't that, it was I was thinking nomad would be better as a starting point because I'm a stranger to the city like a nomad is.

But I'm wondering how much I'm really going to play on a second playthrough, and I was already feeling conflicted wanting to play corpo and be more bladerunner y, so I decided against waiting to play what I really wanted just because of the stranger thing because that flavor doesn't actually show up all that much

I pretty much knew how I wanted to play. And choose nomad because I felt it could easily work with that style. But the guy wasn't only talking about second playthroughs. While that was something he considered, he was saying that some people basically made a throwaway character. Or would start and realize that they put the starting skill points in the wrong place. Though, trying out different starting paths could be fun. And trying out a different build...

I think its pretty different from fallout, IIRC. Especially with the cybernetics and skill tree. Also, I dont remember Fallout having very good stealth mechanics...

Depends what you plan to play it on. OG Xbox One and PS4 have frame rates in the teens and twenties and crash a lot, they sound unplayable. So you gotta have current gen consoles or an acceptable PC if you want it to actually work. It's a pretty good game, better than anything Bethesda has made since Morrowind or Oblivion, TBH. It def has New Vegas vibes (Obsidian aren't hacks, so that's a good thing).

Overall though, I'd recommend Immortals more. It's Breath of the Wild with DMC combat and just a great time. I can't believe Ubisoft made it.

Yet here I am on my base PS4 playing it and it's fine. Is Xbox One and the base PS4 the worse version? Yes but the media are for sure blowing it out of proportion about how bad it is. It has dips in frames sure but the crashes and bugs are not exclusive to the older consoles. Far from it infact. It always amuses me when folk on the internet parrot what some media website or youtuber says about a game they haven't played on said hardware. If you really want to play it and only have the base, older consoles then have at it. It's still a fun game!
