might buy it tonight for my base ps4 and pray the day one patch makes it play better than what I saw in early gameplay footage.

at the very least, I'll get a free upgrade for the ps5 version

Tutorial is literally 6 hours long. You have no idea it's just the prologue until suddenly, title card lol.

Honestly, I'm really enjoying the game a lot. It scratches an itch in me that I always love. I'm even playing on ps4 slim and enjoying it. I'm about 5 hours in. It definitely has flaws, but it scratches that Deus Ex/blade runner itch so well.

How is the expanse of the world? How many interiors can be explored in the city? Do you get a lot of chances to just "live" in the world or does it push the action harder? Do you have your own home/hideout?

According to earlier topics saying the game is 15 hours, that means 9 hours after that you get the credits. So the tutorial is 35% of the game. No need to look any further into this. Spread this information like wildfire.

Pretty good. Standard open RPG for the most part but in a cyberpunk world.

The quickhacking kind of reminds me of the V.A.T.S. in Fallout since it slows down time but you do more interesting stuff with it than just targeting body parts to attack.

The braindance stuff is an interesting idea even if it supposedly causes seizures in some.

The story is okay so far. Like most open world games I tend to ignore the main story for some time. The side stuff is fun.

I haven't ran into many bugs but I am on PC.

It is not 15 hours lol. If you bumrush just the story, it's 15-20. But no one is going to do thst. It's pointless. The side missions are literally the best part of the game lol. In reality, most reviewers and gaming Podcasters and such are putting 30-50 hours into it before beating it.

I'm enjoying it a lot, playing on PC, about 5 hours in (have only completed like the first two missions and otherwise have just done a few side gigs and NCPD alerts). It does give me a sort of Deus Ex vibe, and I like there's a variety in how you complete things (can go stealthy or balls out or a combination of the two). There's a fair variety in gear from what I've seen, though I'm also... just wearing underwear and red boots and a trench coat because that's the best armor rating I have so far >_>.

Probably the worst part about it is the lack of guidance and explanation in the menus. Maybe if I play further they'll explain more... but it took me several minutes to find stuff like your actual skills (hacking, firearms, etc.). You can't seem to modify weapons without equipping them first - I got a weapon I can't equip but it has weapon mods I want to salvage but I am afraid to disassemble it and lose those modifications...

The perks are really useful but I'm not terribly fond of the perk system itself - perks are not available for purchase unless you meet the requisite Stat level or Skill level. It's not like other games where you unlock Perk A and that lets you unlock Perk B and then you can choose Perk C or Perk D next. I imagine that's because of how the game might work on paper in the tabletop RPG but it's nervewracking for me because I'm paranoid about screwing up my build >_>.

The only glitches I've encountered have been inconveniences at worst. There was one on the Character Creation screen (I was halfway through making my character, the screen just got locked scrolling up... but just playing around with the arrow keys fixed that). There was one where the dialogue option I needed to proceed didn't appear in the dialogue list (but... just asking the guy the "optional" line was enough to make it appear the next time the dialogue menu came up). And one where I looked in the mirror and my character was all bald with ugly lines on his face (I guess because it couldn't render sunglasses and a hat in the mirror?).

Pro tip: make sure you unequip mods from your guns before you switch them out for an upgrade.

I had this too, was wearing a hat and looked in the mirror. Showed up a bald head. Didn't have any weird lines though.

As for my experience, the game itself is solid so far. Playing on Xbox One, like others said some minor bugs but all for me have been texture bugs and the occasional "corpse on the ground that keeps kinda flopping and won't actually lay flat motionless." Nothing gamebreaking.

Is there an easy way to unequip mods or do you literally have to equip the weapon?

Oh, I also hate how the holster key is the same as the "change weapon" key. I cannot get the timing down to save my life. Sometimes I wonder if I'm going too fast but if I go longer then it still changes weapons.

The lines were disappointing, it looked like my character had been wearing goggles on his cheeks for a year straight. I did choose the gold cheek implants but those were more L shaped and these lines were... well, like goggles.

You literally have to equip it lol. There's a lot of weirdly cumbersome stuff in the way menus and stuff are handled, for no real good reason. And yeah, the game does a poor job of explaining stuff. Ign pointed out that they didn't know about one feature until an hour before they beat it.

I've heard fiddling with that stuff is pretty unnecessary from a couple reviews. So maybe you can just ignore it if it's annoying.

Eventually I will but early on having stuff like scopes is pretty useful. I guess you're right though, I did buy a scope for a sniper rifle I crafted and then several NCPD alerts later I just found a better sniper rifle on some criminal with a scope on it already >_>.

You unlock a motorcycle after the prologue, it is significantly better than any car and will be the only vehicle you use the entire game. No joke.

Way fucking more than I thought I would

I went in with no hype, no clue, preordered 12 hours before release and it's probably one of the best games I've ever played

Witcher in the future with guns combined with some skyrim, fallout, gta, ac and more but done way better

Probably even better than the witcher

I'm hooked right now
