These presentations aren't just release date announcements. They show off gameplay of the character and talk about the other things that will be released with them. Like Mii costumes and stuff.

It really isn't. Like why would they release what is probably a 40-60 minute long video going over everything without an announcement? There are people who find these fun to watch and would want to know about it.

...To let people know and see if it's worth the money? These characters can be bought separately, you know. Knowing what DLC is like to see if it'd be worth spending the extra money should be standard practice.

I don't remember any one character taking more then like 20 minutes or so outside of minecraft steve for one of these tbh. Sure the video would be longer, but that would just be Sakurai talking about the music and background info and mii costumes and such.

I used 90 minutes as that's what I was told ITT, but regardless there's no reason to announce the character, then make an announcement to tune in to another direct for a release announcement.

The community has liked this for a long time though and I don't see how it's a bad thing for the devs to keep the community updated on the content they paid for/will pay for. It's a solid marketing strategy that is only positive for both the consumer and the company lol

Not to mention, other fighting games have been doing this as well.

Either way, I'm not paying him any mind. This seems like such a weird thing to get pissy about and I only assume he's just trying to get a rise out of us.
