Haven't played this since a year or two after launch. Never played Director's Cut, dunno what's diff bout it.

I just beat Mankind Divided. I am underwhelmed. It really ends like that, crazy. Crazy!

Anyway I remember next to nothing about HR but I'm pretty hyped for more sneaking around as Jensen

Director's Cut doesn't have the gold tint filter and includes the DLC content somewhat seamlessly in game. You lose your stuff but get it all back at the end of the DLC portion. I haven't beaten it yet, just started over. It's pretty good I'd say.

They force you to play the dlc near the end of the game. Imo it completely ruins the flow of the game.

I'm actually reading the DC is downgraded in a lot of ways and even buggier in others

The first time I've ever seen anyone say that.

I will say though, runs well enough for me, but I ran into a dialog bug that soft locked the game and lost a ton of progress. Dunno if that's a DC thing but I think it was DLC content.

Not necessarily. In DE:HR--DC's ML (NG ~70% complete) there's a magic number for *your* Praxis Kits: 38. Over 38, it starts destroying PKs.**

[ I found-out the hard way. I investigated and wrote MyIGN blog posts on what I discovered. ]

To prevent this don't buy/gather optional PKs until after you've finished ML's mission... only buy/gather PKs once you're able to leave that area.
.

** It destroyed over two dozen of my PKs. Still, duly warned and playing accordingly, DE:HR--DC is a worthwhile experience.

Can't you just use your praxis kits to not have them be destroyed? Or do you lose all of your abilities and turned into kits?

Is the DLC the part where you get shipped inside a crate? I remember that was kinda lame and confusing

in the director's cut, it gives you multiple options in taking on bosses rather than straight up having to gun them down, iirc.

All of your PKs, the ones in-and-on you, are extracted from you (iirc, separately from your other gear), and are temporarily sealed away.

38 PKs is safe *IF* you only get PKs through XP in ML (which prevents you from going over the "start destroying sealed PKs" trigger limit).

You can use environmental hazards, traps, etc., to do some or all of your work.

So what's the verdict here then? I have both regular and DC installed. played thru regular till Adam got robocop'd and called it a night. The boss fight variations sound cool but is it worth the downgraded graphics and risking the bugs?

I forgot about this. I don't know what the non DC fights are like, but you're gonna want the extra options imo.

Do both; I did. Both are great experiences with different narrative tones and challenges.

If you like stealth, you might not like original DE:HR's boss fights. I faced no game-disrupting bugs in either version (the PK thing was "by design").
