At my store, we can and sometimes do call out people with masks under their nose. I don't most of the time because that would be at least 40% of all customers and thats how you go crazy. but I've told my coworkers if they call somebody out and ask for them to put it over their nose, I will back them up.

Yesterday a mother and daughter come in, masks completely below the nose. My coworker is waiting on them, and says "Could you please pull that up over your nose?" and the mother responds "I have anxiety, which is why I don't" and my coworker goes "That's not an excuse" (which it literally isn't. anxiety isn't an excuse to walk around potentially infecting people with greater ease).

The customer then says "IM SO OVER THIS CRAP", leaves her stuff at the counter, and her and her daughter just walk out in a fit of rage.

Cases piling up, governor just issued shutdown orders for restaurants and bars for 3 weeks or so, and people still don't care. This is however satisfying to see, the trash took itself out. I like that.

Feral sheep. Not even people anymore. That's what all this is showing us.

Do you offer curbside pickup for people that "can't" wear masks? That's what a lot of places I've seen have been doing to make it easier to ensure that everybody in the store is masked appropriately.

You can call our store and place and order and drive up to the sidewalk, or you can just get our attention and stand outside while we pick up what you want and we do everything. We have options.

However, people really, really want to come in, and don't give a single shit about it. We had this person in the store the other day who was 96 years old(A coworker recognized them). They are the exact person who should NOT be out, but since they are, people such as moron lady in OP should be more considerate of others like this 96 year old woman. she shouldn't be out, yet she is, so....

The thing is though, is that asking people to wear masks is one thing. You HAVE to do it(at least in my store). Asking people to pull it up over their nose is another matter. 99% of people come in wearing a mask, and the 1% at this point just forgot and go get it from their car or put it on if its in their pocket. at least a quarter of customers are nose people. If I were to enforce the rules on every nose bearing customer I might actually need to be locked up in an insane asylum.

I had a coworker who recently retired a year ahead of time because he would not waver on the masks and nose. He'd all out anybody, even his own mother, for violations of either. He said he was tired of getting abused, screamed and cursed at by customers over the masks so he retired a year ahead of time.

I'd argue that if the 96 year old doesn't care, you shouldn't either.

I don't want any of the bar or restaurant owners and employees I know to go bankrupt or lose their jobs. a 96 year old shouldn't be out in this, but since they are and there is nothing we can do about it, it's on morons like woman in OP to actually wear their mask properly(like the 96 year old was) so we can slow the spread.

No, the 96 year old might not care, but I do, because I want my society to attempt to return to normal.

That's on your government. If the vulnerable people don't mind dying, the government should respect their decision and stop restricting everybody to help an imaginary scared people.

Where are these imaginary scared people? I see a LOT of actually scared people where I live. Perhaps some of those scared people would be this 96 year old woman's relatives, if she has any.

Ultimately it is on our gov't to get society back to normal. If they say restaurants are closed, they are closed. I work for the state gov't here, so enforcing the masks is actually the very small part I play in trying to get society back to normal.

If your not wearing a mask over your mouth and nose your not wearing a mask.
I do understand that it can feel like it is sort of restricting your breathing. That feeling goes away if you just wear the mask for long enough.

If you can't wear a mask, you should have to stay home then or avoid places that require them. You don't have the right to break the rules, you have the right to remove yourself from places that want a mask on everyone's face.

I basically just engage people who don't have it on at all. If they are most of the way there I just move on because I'd have to talk to 80% of the people.
