The matrix reloaded

I've re watched this film so much as a teen cause I had no cable and owned a few DVDs so I just watched this everyday I loved it. I memorized the entire script at one point and I still could sit down and watch this now even.

The action scenes are so fun. The Architect scene is so wordsy and funny but kinda cool too. The movie gets way too much hate.

I didn't realize this one got hate. It's one of my more well liked horror movies.

I thought it was great with a very boring ending. Just felt like it was building to something but just fizzled out.

I'll second Speed Racer. It's definitely flawed and not for everyone - it can't decide whether it wants to be a kid's movie or a more edgy YA movie, and too often these halves mix like oil and water. (though it's hard to pin down the reason: I couldn't exactly tell you why Spirtle and Chim-Chim's antics in the racecar factory are terrible while the ninja attack and Greco-Roman wrestling bit work quite well).

But the visual style is very unique, and the parts of the movie that do work do so fantastically. And between this and his work on The Incredibles two years earlier, it solidified my opinion that Michael Giacchino is one of the best movie composers working today.

Godzilla 98. Was nice seeing a believable giant mutated animal who dodged missiles instead tanking the most advanced weapons at the time like it's nothing.

People give Pacific Rim a lot of crap for being "dumb", but I love it so much. The visual effects are amazing, the worldbuilding is great, the acting isn't even all that bad, the soundtrack is awesome. I could watch that movie over and over again. I saw it in IMAX theaters 14 times. What an experience.

Rollerball (2002). It has a ton of personality, tons of action and is incredibly quotable.

Everyone shits on this movie but I think it's fun.

Exorcist II: The Heretic - It's barely a horror and not a great sequel to The Exorcist but I didn't like that film much and The Heretic is a weird as hell film about esp and strange priests. It fits in well with the films John Boorman made before and after, Zardoz and Excalibur.

Batman & Robin - Hyper stylised and sexual, colourful and camp. This to me takes the inherent silliness of Batman and turns it into a magical homoerotic dreamscape of a film that's somewhere between Kenneth Anger and Pink Narcissus. I'd take this any day over the Nolan grimdark bullshit. Batman Returns is the best Batman movie but B&R is a close second.

While I don't love it, it was a half decent action-adventure movie. The fact that it was a box office failure and didn't live up to its budget inflated people's hatred of the movie.

The Bayformers movies minus TLK. They got Peter Cullen to return as Optimus Prime and the actual fights are great even if I have to fast forward through the human scenes on rewatch.

Attack of the Clones. It actually sets up RotS quite well and has decent action once you get past the awkward romance scenes.

The Force Awakens. As derivative as it is (And for good reason. I was there for the Prequel hate when it was new. It WAS worse than the Sequel hate. So much that people actually drove across the country to bully Jake Lloyd to the point it literally drove him insane.) I felt it left us with a strong foundation for a new story to take place afterwards.

MAAAAAAYBE we can count MCU films considering how much shit you see sheep talking shit about them (especially on this website) after Scorsese's Okay Boomer moment. But that certainly isn't the general consensus though.....

Prometheus. I will say the crapping on is fair tho.

This. The actual character writing is terrible but the lore is really solid and interesting, even if no one asked for it.

My biggest one is the Halloween remakes. I can understand people not liking them because they're not Halloween but I feel like they stand on their own feet and people should look at them independently from the original. Also totally understand if people don't like Zombies particular style, but he is a damn good film maker regardless.
