FortuneCookie 12/19/20 1:54:39 PM #5:	Because the 1989 Batman movie uses the Indiana state flag as the Gotham flag, I tend to think of Indianapolis as Gotham by daylight. That, and because I'm mostly there during the day. If you're interested in art, culture and architecture, then Europe has extravagant buildings, some centuries or thousands of years old, built by rich idiots wasting money. The US is a young country and very England dominated culturally, it's cities are modern and built on a budget. Dallas has nothing on Munich in terms of sheer history. Also European cities (not UK but mainland) tend to be much better designed for cyclists and pedestrians. So if you don't want to drive then it's pleasant. The US is Grid obsessed. More pratical in some respects but boring and bad for non drivers. Also tends to be A LOT cheaper, which I know New Yorkers will scoff at but not everywhere is New York. Europe also tends to have better food in their cities. If you're just looking for pragmatism, places to sleep, services, stores, food, businsesses etc. US has Europe beat hands down and arguably is much better to live in. But if you're a fat tourist who wants to fart around for a week. Rome, Venice, Prague, Brussels, Paris, Rostock... etc..
