Basically 2% of choices impact the story. Specifically theres a choice near the end of the game that essentially picks your ending, and thats all that matters

Thing is, there are prerequisites for some of the endings. Only two are there no matter what. One requires doing the rogue side quest, one requires doing the panam side quests, and one requires Johnny to like you via you being nice to him.

I think the problem is that yes, choices in games generally don't have a technical difference in how the story develops, but they also generally do a better job giving the illusion that the choice matters. So far I haven't seen a whole lot of that in CP2077.

I did fuck up the "Welcome to America, Comrade!" mission last night on my second save file so I'm wondering if I get the follow-on now.

For me its all about the making of the choice that I enjoy. Not necessarily the outcome. I know people shit on Mass Effect series but some of the choices were really difficult to make.

The Witcher 3 has a few choices that make a difference to the ending. Your ending depends on 5(?) specific choices you make with Ciri with 3 different outcomes. that's pretty much it - everything else is pretty inconsequential, or is basically on the same level as CP2077 (make choice - this or this will happen - you either get a shit reward or a better reward. I might be mistaken, but 95% of the choices boil down to this)

I can see both sides honestly. I do like hearing different dialogue options for fun and roleplaying in my own head without worrying about consequences in-game and possibly missing things due to my choices.

As a lesbian I found it rather infuriating that you can flirt with Panam and try to romance her, but she gives no indication that she won't romance other women. It's just not an option at the very end of her questline.
