It's an ARPG kinda like Diablo. It's got that sort of perfect atmosphere that mixes big dangerous areas with pockets of cozy safezones and NPCs.

I chose Occultist for my first level up. I like the idea of both minions to help deal with enemies as well as debuffs I can cast.

Nice. I haven't used occultist much but I think it'd mix well with shaman for bleed dmg and pets. Maybe make you a lil more tanky too. Making builds was so fun to me in that game.

Def listen to this too^ I prioritized defense first because it gets to a point where you'll start getting chunked when hit.

Dump most of your attributes in physique. Your gear will cover the rest. You want to get all your res up as high as you can. Health + Armor are good too. Don't be afraid to use your components in order to raise your stats. You can apply them on any piece of gear and you will find many of them.

Once you get into the Devotion tree, you will get more defensive and offensive stats. I ended up looking for the main constellation I wanted and picked up enough smaller ones to have enough "points" to unlock the main one. What I need to do is rethink my tree and get more defensive stats.

Grim dawn is awesome. Love the amount of customization through the 2 different classes and shit.

fuck yeah I like it too. I got to the "best EQ available" level (94) but I'm not geared up past that point. My best character is a super-fast Gunslnger hybrid of Demolitionist and some mage class but like I'm super fast at shooting and I kill everything really quick if I keep my distance. It is definitely more complicated than Diablo 3 but easier to build in than Path of Exile (I play all three of them). It
s really fun to play with my character though lol I'm like a crazy supernatural fucking cowboy with 2 revolvers that have like unlimited fire ammo.

Probably the best game of its genre that I've played, though I still got bored of it like halfway through. Those games are just a little too repetitive for me to stick with, usually. Very good game though for the time it actually did remain fun, the build variety is pretty high

I've been putting levels into 'Bloody Pox' but I'm not so sure what its purpose is (at least on Veteran), because my Dreeg's Evil Eye annihilates normal mobs just about instantly.

Currently doing my first runthrough of the game myself...after having it for a while, running a Necromancer/Oathkeeper since I bought the DLC, it's a pretty fun combo haha

Basically until Ultimate it isn't actually hard. On Ultimate you need a really good build to succeed.

Combining that with Necromancy(DLC class) for a Cabalist is a really fun pet build. You can have an army of skeletons going, alongside the raven with its AoE stun lightning strikes, and have both bolstered by devotion augment skills. Specced right the first and easiest playthrough is almost an uneventful walking simulator, as your minions rip through almost everything in seconds.

AoE DoTs from enemies can drag them down, but you won't have to worry about defensive skills for them very much until the next playthrough.

At level 31 and I just put my first points into a second class, Necromancer. Pets + Acid/Poison with Dreeg's Eye is how I'm playing right now. All my minions form a barricade between me and the horde and I just lob these acid grenades into the crowd. Also have points in Curse of Frailty to stop big mobs from chasing me down past my pets.

As far as flavor goes I'm not typically a poison user but Dreeg's Eye with focused gaze is such a huge and effective blast...
