Game play and music were surprisingly good. It has a good combo system. Also, it's 2 players simultaneous, which is rare.

Do you barely punch the air as your opponent goes flying away?

It's a lot like Streets of Rage but you can upgrade your characters to make them more powerful. Cobra Kai dojo uses fire based attacks, Miyagi dojo uses iced based attacks. But you dont have to upgrade. The combo system is pretty good though. Every opponent has a life bar and you can rack up over 100 hits easily. You can tell that the guys who made the game were big Street Fighter / Mortal Kombat / Streets of Rage fans. Here's a description of the characters' moves:

Miguel - Has a fire uppercut like Ken, fast kicks, a hurricane kick type move, and a move that can set enemies on fire, holding them still
Johnny - Has the sweep the leg. Axel Stone's Grand Upper, Zangief's spinning clothesline, and ability to power up briefly
Tori - Has a punch of spinning fire kicks and a fire version of Chun Li's Kikouken super
Hawk - Has a fire hurricane kick and a move where he can shoot fire wings out of his back

Samantha - a clear rip off of Chun Li. She has the spinning bird kick, kikouken, and lightning kick
Daniel - Uses a lot of moves where he can pull giant ice blocks out of nowhere and use against the opponent
Demitri - Has some pretty cool ice moves like an ice sword, exploding ice dummies, an ice freeze mist move... very original
Robby - Basically an ice version of Miguel. He uses an ice uppercut and other ice type moves like a stomp that throws an icicle down.

If you were a fan of the 90s fighting games and Karate Kid movies, you will like it. I just wish there would have been some unlockable characters.

I thought that was kind of dumb too, but it is fun to do in the game. At the end they explain it. Basically hawk and Demitri were telling their sides of the rivalry that happened between Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do, and they exaggerated.
