I'd say you're a little under halfway if you've killed lost sinner and just got past prowling magus. Maybe 35-40%

I friggin love the setting of DS2.
The npcs, the locations, the enemies, and even some of the bosses.
It has it's flaws but it has its improvements.
Powerstancing, not awful whip move sets (YES! I love it!), a few creative bosses, a nice punching moveset to unlock

Way to ignore the rest of my post. The DLC is plagued by horribly long run ups to bosses Lud and Zallen, Blue Smelter, even the run to Sir Alonne is a complete clusterfuck, three of the bosses compound the horrible durability issue DS2 already has, and they somehow manage to include more gank squads than the base game.

There are some great moments and cool concepts in the DLC, but those moments are punctuated by the same shitty design choices that weighed the base game down

DS2 doesn't have a durability issue, it has a durability mechanic. Durability might as well not exist in the other Souls games, except for the one shitty reason it even is in Dark Souls 1, to fuck over first time players who didn't realize how important getting the smithing box from Andre was, as they descend into Blighttown.

Ehhh, agree to disagree. They overtuned the weapon degradation in DS2, even after they fixed the durability bug in scholar. I agree that it might as well not exist, since it's a bad mechanic to begin with

Smelter Demon is a great boss who most often gets smashed the fuck down because the level scaling in the early game is a thing that I have feelings about.

For the record, I have not died to any boss more than 5 times since the Ruin Sentinels.

Hey some people get beaten down early and stay underlevelled for quite a while.
I just remember Smelter was supposed to be one of the awkward/hard fights so if he's just walked through him with minimal effort I'm not sure what's still going to put up a fight.
