Initially I got to the third boss on my third run, but Im on run 9 now and I have still yet to beat Theseus. Is this normal?

Theseus is a hard fight, it takes figuring out good weapon and boon combos to beat him reliably.

Edit: which doesn't mean Google stuff - what works for others might not for you. Part of the fun in roguelites is experimenting with builds.

The spear has gotten me the farthest, but I just unlocked the fists so I am going to try those.

Ive had all the gods since run 4, and I still cant see the Adamant Rail but Ive gotten all the other ones unlocked.

From what I am reading the fact I almost beat Theseus on my first try with the spear is already far above average. However I am coming off of DMD mode in DMC5 so my action sense is high atm.

Theseus is harder than the final boss a lot of the time. Just keep at it, focus on the minotaur and try not to get theseus to phase 2 if bull is alive. they'll be trivial to you soon enough

I killed the Minotaur the first time. My second run my damage was just so bad (and admittedly I was 5-6 alcoholic drinks in) that it was an uphill battle and I died. I have the mirror upgrades for two resurrections per run now so its rare I dont at least get to the second boss.

Keep an eye out for the little bullseye that appears around Zag when he's about to throw, then figure the timing between when that appears and when you need to dodge. Or just put a pedestal between him and you whenever it appears.

It's one of the harder rougelites I've played so I wouldn't say you're just bad (git gud tho). Theseus is pretty obnoxious, Hermes has a boon where you get a small speed boost after dodging that makes avoiding the spear throw pretty much cake so that might be helpful if it turns up. Otherwise I just make sure to keep pillars between myself and Thesus while trying to kite around the Minotaur

I ended up cheesing him hard with Poseidons Dash Boom and destroy Mino by dashing around him.

I beat him!

Congrats TC I was going to suggest to construct additional pylons. They help me cheese any boss encounter but of course to each their own.

That poison is rough as hell. It takes a few runs to get a feel for what attacks how and where the antidote pools are in each room type.

The glowing gold pools in the fourth area cure poison for you, and they're on a cooldown so if you think you're gonna get poisoned again right after curing yourself look for another one in the room.

Your progress is pretty exactly like mine. Finally kill 3rd boss then immediately get my ass kicked by poison because I don't understand wtf is happening.
