Prop 230, really should not exist anymore. It made sense in the beginning. But it's slowly turning popular websites users into hiveminds.

They should change it, if a site lets people freely express them selves, sure they can be protected by 230.

But if they don't and they feel the need "too choose" what content their members can distribute. Then they should be legally binding like magazines/TV/Newspapers/Books are. Giving them a free pass to control and manipulate people just because they are a easier to access medium makes no logical sense.

If a site wants to do more than regulate illegal content. If they feel the need to influence and force public opinions. Then they should be held liable for it like every other publisher of content.

As for the fraud committee, no one should care over that. What is it gonna do even "IF" it found fraud.

They should just do it.

Websites like Facebook and Twitter shouldn't have so much power to manipulate 100s of millions anyway.

Prop 230 isn't what's creating hiveminds. If prop 230 is removed, then the rules for what you can post on social media platforms would only get even more strict. People only complain about their posts getting removed from social media platforms because they can't seem to follow rules they agreed to when they created their accounts.

Echo chambers exist in all formats, and across the political spectrum. The difference is that slightly more people realize conservative views are bullshit.

Yeah, you have no idea what Section 230 does. Or what it's even called.
