My symptoms so far have been:
  • Fevers and chills at night
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion in throat
  • Coughing here and there with discharge sometimes
  • Runny nose, rarely

The night time fevers have made it really tough to sleep. I slept better last night, so I'm hoping that means I'm on the tail end of all of this. The only things that stick out in my mind for how I would have got it are either getting Starbucks drive-through or that guy who came out to fix my washer/dryer.

We both were. He took his off a few times when he was in my utility room, though.

He was also touching stuff in your home. Even with a mask, that can be a transmission vector.

I took a lot of Vitamin C and Zinc chews, as well as one a day men's multivitamins. Not sure if it helped

it's worth a try. i might have to get some of those in case. though a low risk to myself of infection is still a chance.

whichever those vitamin things are that target one nutrient.

My biggest issue with vitamins is the prevalence of gummy vitamins now. The bioavailability of the actual vitamins inside of that gelatin is really, really low. Powder chewable or capsule vitamins are better.

I'm a physician. Taking vitamins without a demonstrated deficit is a waste of money. One of the things of CE that surprise me the most is how sold a lot of people here are on the idea that young, healthy individuals with properly varied diets need supplements and how good it is for them. It truly is an USA thing, marketing has done its job.

I think you're overestimating how properly varied the average American's diet is.

This is entirely anecdotal but ever since I started taking a vitamin every day, whenever I get sick I'm only sick for a day or two instead of a week+ before I took them

It certainly can't hurt to keep taking them even if I might not need them, can it?

My husband has all those symptoms minus a fever/aches. Its been about 4 days. He got tested yesterday and were waiting on results. He keeps insisting its just a cold but Ive never seen him this sick before. He thought I was being crazy when he first started feeling unwell because I demanded he quarantine in another room away from me as soon as he had a small sore throat. Then the other symptoms started and he took it more seriously.

I don't know that it's fair to assume that everyone has a "properly varied diet." The vast majority of severe covid cases globally have been associated with a vitamin D deficiency, if what I've been reading is correct.

I don't wear masks at drive throughs, but my thinking there is that you don't really know what happened to the cup before it's handed to you.

We were both wearing masks when he was in my apartment, but he took his off a few times while he was in my utility room.

Friday will be 3 weeks since my first symptoms started. The health department said I was no longer contagious after 10 days, but I was still really sick with fever and a nasty cough. I didn't want to risk it so I took more time off of work. Then at 13 days I felt tons better.

I do still have a bit of a cough, and weakness. Will still get lightheaded occasionally, and cold air takes my breath away, but otherwise I'm feeling fine.

There's been little evidence that having COVID prevents you from getting it again, and even if it did, you can act as a carrier.

If you are a carrier, then CDC would have you staying home for more than 14 days. Further, if you are going to be afraid of getting it again right away, I would guess you also don't plan to get the vaccine.

I had it for about two weeks. My symptoms were mild in comparison: Sinus Pressure and loss of smell/taste. I stayed home, tool Nyquil/Dayquil to help with my sinuses and to help sleep. I also drank a lot of water. I didn't eat much since a) I wasn't expending much energy, b) I didn't have much food in the house and I didn't feel like doing a grocery pickup, and c) My sensory losses made eating a chore since I couldn't enjoy flavor so I mostly stuck to bland foods.

Keep an eye on your coughing and breathing. I was told by the testing site that if I start to experience those symptoms then I should go to the hospital.

You actually are ineligible for the vaccine for at least the next three months.

I bought a pulse oximeter, downed vitamin C, melatonin, and elderberry and just rested as much as possible. My symptoms were coughing, sinus pressure, mild fever, severe muscle pain, and fatigue. I was feeling better by day 4 and all symptoms were gone by day 6.

No, as in even after you fully fight off the initial infection, that doesn't mean if you get exposed to the virus again it won't magically be unable to jump from you to someone else. As far as the vaccine bit goes, I can't even follow your logic jump there.

You would no longer be shedding the initial infection was my point.

Natural immunity for someone who already had the virus is comparable to the expected immunity conferred by the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. The studies are still ongoing. That being said, the second dose of the vaccine can still shed just like the naturally conferred virus.

As a man, I must bring up the fact that men are notoriously bad at self-diagnosis. Get on his ass and stay on it about this.

take vitamin c,d and zinc.

you still have your sense of smell and taste?

the fever should last a week tops and you'll feel back to better. get tested 2 weeks after.

my quarantine is about to end in the next few days and I have to return back to work soon (inpatient pharmacy). my hospital is running on on oxygen tanks for covid patients.
