Take Super Metroid for example - perfect game....

Except that the default controls are kinda wonky; guys, Y is for shoot and B is for jump! A for run. X and select can debatably be used for either function

Lufia 2 is the best RPG of all time...

But you can break the game in a number of ways... the simplest being changing from Stereo sound to Mono and back.
....

And in Paladin's Quest, if your name is lower case "e"... the game breaks

Digimon World, training and Tamer Rank, wish they gave more stats for wild battles, the game would go so much more smoother rather than spending like half your digimons life traiining.

Monster hunter tri. Charm tables even though they were an accident and came of the finite sequences of numbers that can occur in the software's RNG formula mixed with never getting a new seed and the charm generation process.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps - that Shriek remained bitter and mean towards the world and chose to basically go off and die with her parents' skeletons rather than be embraced by potential new friends. It's arguably more realistic, and I appreciate the emotional impact and originality to go that route with the character, but it was really freaking sad.

Mass Effect Trilogy - that there was no option to have your playthrough lock you into a specific ending, instead you just pick one.

WCW/nWo Revenge - they changed the Japanese wrestlers into stupid new characters... and the awful entrances... when WWF Wrestlemania 2000 actually had (massively compressed) entrance themes shortly thereafter.

Assassin's Creed (Origins to present) - didn't use the semi-reboot to scrap the stupid Animus concept.

Hearts of Iron IV - you can't return control of core territories of your choosing to another country, it's all or nothing, but in older games you could choose.

Civilization VI - the city states are way too pacifistic. they used to be awesome in V, you could turn off city razing and unleash their mini-empire fury.

I hate the endgame boss rushes in Mega Man games. They're just a boring way to artificially increase the length. It's not as bad when the final boss is a separate level, but sometimes that immediately follows the boss rush and if you get a game over you have to fight all eight again.

Stealth sections in Zelda games. They aren't the worst thing but they can be annoying and I don't see what they add. Ever since like OoT they decided pretty much every Zelda needs a stealth part for some reason.

The fact that certain games with heavy reset/reload gameplay are on the gba, a system using carts with internal batteries for memory storage where replays burn out the battery. MMZ3 is one example, Monster Rancher Advance 1/2 is another

Ironically, MR DS adjusted its gameplay accordingly. DS cart memory degrades after repeated re-saves and MR DS punishes you for saving the game, lowering your monster's stat potential. (Which is backwards considering the gameplay, but it helps the dev from encouraging players to destroy their copy via gameplay.)

I didn't know that saving itself was bad for your batteries.

On the other hand, I have NES Zelda games from over 20 years ago that still save on the original battery so I guess I never worried about it too much
