Hot diggity, where do I even start?

It had amazing pacing, which is usually the downfall of most animes. Halfway into the first episode youre already into the main story and it never looks back. As more arcs became available, there was never any drawn out storylines or anything.

Phenomenal characters! Everyone had their own storyline and these werent drawn out either. I was actually bummed when some of the characters died off, which was unexpected by the way. I like that they all didnt survive, but kind of wish fewer died maybe.

The fights were very balanced. I love DBZ but you always know whos going to win every fight. But in this show, anything goes. I especially like how Night Raid wasnt OP, and that there were other equally formidable opponents. This was largely made possible by the Imperial Arms, which people on any side were able to wield. Without one of these you didnt really stand a chance, as evidenced by the Ministers guardsmen getting defeated despite being strong.

Great dialog. There werent any cheesy monologues or anything like that. The dial of between all characters were logical and mature. It was surprising that this was not originally American given how fluently the dialog went!

I wish Tatsume didnt die and it was apparent that the show wanted Akame to be the main character in some way.

I cant believe there was only one season of this show!

Heh.

It was aight, I think the characters were pretty plain jane anime characters, just put through more than the average story. The dedication to killing off characters really helped sell the violence and emotions.

That said the worldbuilding is so bad it's hard to take seriously. The tone rubs me the wrong way when it's being really childish while also being super gritty.

What do you mean the world building is bad?

I thought the show did a great job at making it clear that its all just about perspective. Different people had their own visions which dictated what side they fought on. Even people who were once on the same side!

I have to really think about whether it is better than Death Note. It is better than Erased and Full Metal Alchemist and The Promised Neverland.

Well it caught up to the manga very quickly so they came up with their own ending. Skipped through a thing or 2 which isn't that unusual but . So many missed opportunities to make it better.

Ah I looked it up. Still not sure why Akame is getting so much recognition. She wasnt much more important than the other characters. Maybe a bit.

Nah bro the bad guys were pretty much purely evil. There was no perspective there. The only reason a guy like Wave was on the other side was because he conveniently doesn't witness any of the clearly evil stuff.

You should check out the manga if you really liked it though. I thought it was actually a lot better in the ending, despite my misgivings. I like shonens that can tell a complete story in less than 20 volumes.

The Justice girl wasnt evil, just misguided. The Incendiary guy used to be evil but now accepted his past. They all had their reasons. The Minister and his cohorts was purely evil. Im never wrong.

Maybe it's be more accurate to say I don't like how it was depicted. The Justice girl's master was portrayed as purely evil, so that means she either is also as evil, or we go back to the Wave problem of conveniently not seeing someone in their most obvious evil form. Same could be said for the incendiary guy. It's cool that he had all this guilt, but it doesn't seem like his actions changed at all? Or he doesn't see any of the atrocities other parts of the kingdom commit. It's like strangely personal to him.

Iono man, and even if we just say justice girl was misguided, her portrayal was psychotic. None of our heroes act like this lmao.

She was definitely psychotic. Doesnt mean she was evil though. She would have been equally psychotic had her master been someone from the Night Raid. Another angle was Essdeaths group. Namely the old general guy who died on the boat. He was of sound mind and behavior. He just saw things differently!

Might as well be since Incursio slowly corrupts him into an actual Dragon
