Solidarity for those who kept getting laid off and replaced with cheaper people.

They demanded about 10-15 hours a week of free labour, and would have laid me off anyways. My contract stipulated that I was to work 40 hour weeks, and get paid a salary. The labour law states that I was entitled to overtime.

They were fuming when i quit. I wrote my resignation on a coffee-stained, folded-up lined paper. Respect begets respect!

It was my 2nd tour there, my 1st stint i was the consumate employee and still got laid off and replaced by someone cheaper. never got the call-back either, i re-applied when i saw my job posted on the job boards

i was the it manager at our office branch. the higher ups didn't like us having too much autonomy, so within the span of like, 2 months

1) fired our director
2) suspended 3 of the supervisors who then
3) quit
4) completely upended our program, including moving our office
5) made our main supervisor have a mental breakdown, see a therapist, and eventually quit
6) lost one of the contracts with one of the schools we worked for
7) accused our office manager of stealing a 3000 dollar 3d printer, which was SITTING IN OUR OFFICE
8) fired her, and told everyone she quit.

it was a horrible place to work for. all i could think is im fucking next.
and i think they were coming after me.

their higher up tech person tried to turn on my computer and do something, i dunno, but they ran into the firmware password i set. they accused me of doing something illegal and took my computer away to investigate. i couldn't use my own computer and i had to do all my work with someone else in the room. it was too stressful and i was already doing 3 people's jobs since they fired everyone, so i said fuck this i quit.

i checked 3 years later and the new director who did all this no longer works there, nor do like 90% of the people they put in.

i also had a new gig for the next week so that was really the driving force to make me quit. I was direly wanting to GTFO out of there after realizing in short order that nothing had changed.

it was more of a mutual parting than a quitting. They wanted to suspend me without pay because when I asked them 9 months before to test the website, no one did, then 9 months later when there was an issue they were upset. The last 3 or 4 months me and my direct supervisor weren't getting along to well (not sure why, i liked the guy ). And I said nah. within two weeks i had a new job in a new state and i've been there for close to 9 years now.

I couldn't do the 80+ hour work weeks anymore. It was physically demanding, I wasn't getting enough sleep, I had no time for hobbies, and I was constantly getting yelled at for being exhausted. So I saved up enough for 3 months, I quit, and found my current job. I now make more money, I work 40 hours a week max, and I'm not yelled at or completely exhausted all the time.
Hell yeah buddy.

My last job was an internship that went on for 2 years, they liked me enough and asked me to stay. After I graduated I asked for a full time position and they said they didn't have any open. They knew I was going to leave, but they let me stay up until I got a new job, which took around 2 months.

I worked in accounting and did payroll. It was the first year I was eligible for the bonus program. Stock price was tanking, so they cut the bonus pool to non-execs by over 50%.

When I saw the payout to the execs, not only wasnt it cut, but they got paid more than ever before. That was pretty much the last straw, but there also was a whole new accounting system and implementation that was a spectacular failure, so all of that was enough to make me get the hell out of there.

Quit my pt job because my new boss was terrible at the job and I didn't have the drive to train another boss. It wasn't a coincidence that all of my previous bosses got promoted. To go from several years of decent/good bosses to someone that constantly failed wasnt fun. I left and took a promotion at my day job and that guy was fired within 6 months.

They set up a new rule. That whenever someone reports money missing from the register, the previous person had to pay it back. It was going to go into effect right after my shift... so I suspected it was a set up. Fortunately for me, another employee asked to switch days. I warned about the new rule and that the following shift could just pocket the money and blame them. Then that's exactly what happened. Even though the cash was even when they left, next shift reported cash missing. So they paid it back even though it wasn't missing when they left.

Then the GM cane out and accused them of being a thief, and saying there was another $100 missing that she owed him. She quit right then, and I knew the same thing would happen after my next shift, so I quit too.

back then. i probably would've done the same if it meant having the chance to work somewhere safer.
hospital and grocery store are the highest risk right now when it comes to getting infected with covid (despite the safety measures implemented).

as for myself. i had paper boy job in middle school. 1st time quit due to moving. 2nd time due to burning out
1st time i held job for 9 month's.

Because they paid shit (started at 9 ended at like 10.2), and was ran wayyy too strict.
Everyone worse headphones EVERYWHERE, not just at the desks, even on their way to the bathroom, in the bathrooms. (I love wearin headphones at a desk though)
A very anto social place, my supervisor I was either say hey or smile when I walked pass her and she was look down or the other way.

The final straw though? They showed me some new thing so I start it few weeks in, probably was making some mistakes (oh yea training in anything was a bare minimum), and they said someone will sit with me to show me how to do it again for a few days, which they had a coworker do, and then the next week I figured I would be on it again.
Then they said no, we'll let you know when to do it again, then never got it again.

And then I started looking for a job, and I think they somehow caught wind cause they gave me a little raise (like a quarter), and then had be do an interview for another department and the dude that interviewed me looked depressed and was like "Yea you always have to to over time...." and then at the end "SO yea why do you want this?" and I never got selected for that position lmao

Work at a different place now on a yearly salary and live on my own.
But I had to work that data entry job basically as a resume filler for office work, so I don't hate it as much as I did 5 years ago when I left (I was at Data entry job for 2 and a half years, been at my current for 5 next month)
