There's a lot of one touch combos in the game if you have 3 bar, sparking, and assists on deck. A lot of people do early sparking combos to try to drop a character quickly.

I used to go to fighting game tournaments a lot when I lived in the US. And yeah, almost everyone used that word. I am not justifying it or anything, but that absolutely is the culture there. I never saw a black person get upset, but I also didn't use it myself (though I had friends black and otherwise who very much did use it).
