I'm gonna bring up Trish Stratus who had to make out with Vince in front of his wife and crawl around and act like a dog for his amusement in public. She eventually got to have more serious plotlines later in her career at least. I find the element of having to do it in public to your long term boss to be an absolute nightmare scenario. Same with that whole 'Kiss My Ass Club' thing he went through. Rock literally hopped up from his scissor kick finisher at a Pay Per View and planted him with a Rock Bottom. Another storyline had him consulting a witch for a means of defeating the Undertaker. He threw some supposedly supernatural dirt at the Undertaker which 'Taker shrugged off and planted him with a finisher. Most infamous of all was the "someone like you" storyline in which Triple H used multiple ethnic stereotypes to insult Booker T and then beat him at WrestleMania. They tripped him at every turn. And he's successful and leads a pretty good life. Booker T isn't a mark for himself unlike a lot of wrestlers today. Nash admitted that he got screwed upon his return to the WWE, but took it with stride. Aside from losing 4 out of 5 matches to HHH, his treatment wasn't that bad.
