My sister's cat tagged my dog yesterday because he was interested in her.

They put the catnip in a place where she had to go where he could reach her. For the first 2 minutes sge was chewing it and he was sniffing the air next to her and wagging his tail. Then she hisses and tags him, getting him a lil by the eye. He just had a lil blood speck that he didn't respond to. Of course my dumb dog just backs up and just starts shaking in excitement when I get involved and then tries going back to sniff her again. He learned absolutely nothing.

I do get that I'm bring a giant (in comparison to them) animal into their home and letting him take over for 5-6 hours at a time tho. Like, I don't expect them to love him. But cats are so arrogant about everything. She'll just sit where he can get to her but he knows he's not suppose to and stare at him. He just wants to sniff by them and then he'll be over it.

Cats view themselves as supreme beings, but they're actually small, stupid animals(cats are funniest when they are temporarily forced to reckon with this reality) which happen to be adorable and were seen by our ancestors brutally murdering rodents(cats evidently believe that a clean death is far more than their victims deserve). They can be very nice, but they're also territorial and capricious.

Id also like to add, people love to talk about bad dog owners, but cat owners are huge enablers a lot of the time. They pretty much immediately give up on curving any of the cats behavior and they end up working around their bad behavior. Props to the good ones tho. I don't wanna disrespect you.

Ugh, my parents feed our new kitten everything. Just because the dumb idiot cries whenever we make food doesn't mean you give the dumb idiot food! He's going to get incredibly goddamned fat once he stops growing, and then they'll whine about the vet bills...
And probably learn nothing. Cat's a sweet, adorable little bastard though.

I'm pretty immature and I usually get along well with most cats. I think its more that just some people hate cats and cats pick up on that. And they are jerks back to those people

I love this defense. Because I have a history of cats loving me. This implies that all cats share a similar behavior and it's always the person. But the I know 2 people with 3 cats and both house the 3 cats are all completely different.

1 in each house loves me.
1 in each house is indifferent to me
1 in each house is anti-social and has no interest

Anyone who believes that stuff is just believing what they want to. My cousins cat literally greets me at the door and then waits for me to sit down so it can jump ony lap.

I also like how it tries to frame your animal not listening to you as a good thing. Holy shit I hope these people don't have kids >_>.

It's not like I don't respect certain things about cats. I like cats. It's just that pretentious owners usually only make me want to voice the negatives lol. Unlike them, I'll put my dog on blast immediately.

Exactly. If I was at your gouse, I'd just be disappointed it didn't want anything to do with me lol. But I'd move on and let it decide on it's own if it was gonna warm up to my presence or not. It just sucks when someone only has one animal and it wants nothing to do with me >_<. I usually do things like, let it sniff my hand if I can get close enough and then just walk away. Just lil things for it to get use to me. Doesn't always work tho. Sometimes they just stay at that comfort level.

XD. I could see that. The fact that only one of my cousins cats cares about me kind of makes the bond feel more special too. Dogs are definitely easy. If they're not, it's usually cause they were abused or something :/.

All you have to to get a dogs affection is give them food. Even most of the shitty ones who were abused. They just might turn on you really fast if something triggers them....

I have a pit mix whose the sweetest dog ever. And 100% agree there are very rarely bad dogs, there are just a lot dogs raised by bad people.

Both my cats are very tame. They don't like strangers though. They're not aggressive, they're the type to scurry and hide if they don't recognize someone. That said...

I don't trust any animal not to attack. At the end of the day, an animal is an animal. I won't fault it for acting like one and I'll respect their comfort zone as best I can. It doesn't matter how tame you think your beast is. It's an animal. That's why I always watch my cats if I do have company.

I rarely get any scratches, I was taught by a master. By which I mean my first cat, who was very aggressive. She had her limits on petting and personal space so I have learned how to avoid damage from cats like a pro. I also wear thick gloves if they want to play or if I'm planning on petting their butt or stomach because heck, if someone patted my butt, I'd kick em in the groin. But my cats sometimes want to be petted there so I can smooth out the fur, that area is harder for them to reach when bathing.

I respect this. I never expect anyone to just take my word for it when it comes to my dog. I never actually got into a situation where someone was nervous around him, but I'm always aware that people have fears or are just naturally cautious and I'm not trying to make them uncomfortable.

I'm aware. I trust people even less. Not only are humans capable of depravity beyond even the most vicious creature, they'll smile and lie while they do it. So I always watch my people too and make sure their leash is secure when I take them on walks.

No, obviously different cats are different. I've had like 100 cats in my life though and literally one of them was mean and that's because I wasn't his first owner. If your cat hates you then you deserve it for one reason or another.

That's a ridiculous expectation. Cats aren't pack animals, it makes as little sense expecting it to want to serve you as it makes expecting your goldfish to want to serve you. That said, you can train them and will if you are a smart person who can understand basic incentivization
