I take it you've never had a job with negotiable pay? Or even attempted to negotiate your own wages?

It doesn't need to go, it needs to be more frequent.

Hell, I'm in a position now where if I like what a job offers I'll go for it, if I'm not feeling it I'll move on. Pay is minor compared to doing something you actually want to do, so a set in stone listed pay rate doesn't help the potential hire OR the company.

It's so they can give you as little as possible basically. These things are NEVER done to favour the employee, but many are so conditioned that it's normal they believe it helps them.

Lmaooooooo...

Okay, so:

How does my choice of work/pay impact "lower classes"?

How does your lack of understanding a negotiable pay scale help these lower classes in any way?

Why haven't these people done anything to find better work and move into a better class instead of settling for menial shit that pays minimum wage?

#1. Who actually wants to work? That argument is invalid, I don't go to a job because it's something I want to do, I go to work because you're paying me, that's it.

#2. Employers do this so people will apply, once it's made a rule that you have to post the pay, people will stop applying because of what you're paying, forcing them to pay more

#3. Negotiating doesn't work in the real world, go apply at McDonald's where they pay $11 and hour(in my area at least) and tell them you want to negotiate, right in the trash your application goes

That legitimately saddens me, and I hope your professional life improves soon.

Lmao what? That's not how economics work, like, at all. And again, I'd rather call somewhere I'm interested in and negotiate my own pay, which is almost always more than what they'd pay some newbie, so a posted pay rate would likely turn me away from the position more than anything else.

There's your problem, don't apply at McDonald's? Go find something that will let you learn a real skill to land a real job, or else I just can't take you seriously on this subject.

You're missing my point entirely.

They don't make a note of the pay in the hopes you will undersell your value and they can get away with paying less. It's the same with why they don't want you discussing your pay with each other, so you don't realise you deserve more. They don't want people realising their value as they then have to pay you more. By "lower classes" I also just meant anyone not part of the ultra rich elite. The higher ups fuck everyone below them over.

You realize you can still have negotiable wages while stating some sort of minimum pay, right?

I agree, it's annoying as fuck that so many companies don't post the pay as part of a job description (and also don't want you to ask about it). It's literally the most important factor in me applying to your job in the first place. I don't give a fuck if you "worK HaRD, PLaY HARd".

1. The minute your job stops paying you, you'll be out faster than a street light in the ghetto, guaranteed

2. The problem with that is, if a place calls you and you want to negotiate, 9 times out of 10, they will hire someone else

3. I make in the neighborhood of $20 an hour right now, cleared $50,000 last year

I don't even want to waste the time or effort of moving around MY schedule and going to an interview without having at least a rough estimate of the what the company is willing to pay. Fuck I look like taking a day off from my actual job to go to an interview where they expect to hire me for peanuts. And then find out there's not even room for negotiation because someone else is willing to work for even less.

The entire job hiring process is designed to be as inconvenient and a waste of time for job seekers as possible. That shit's gotta change.
