Any McWorkers here? I havent worked there since 2007. Do they still offer flexible hours? Saw they start at $11 an hr at some locations. Wouldn't mind the extra cash right now. It would be a great 2nd job.

I never worked at one, if I had to work a 2nd job in retail, probably would just do a supermarket.

Good. You can use that to get some better flexibility. Just tell the hiring manager what you can and cant work and im sure they will work with you.

delivering pizza costs gas money and wears out the car
that's okay about the drive thru though. i like it when it's busy. when it's slow, time drags on. ... Copied to Clipboard!

How old are you? I personally would be embarrassed for someone to see me working fast food in my thirties. Fast food jobs are the most abusive jobs you can get.
If you think you like it busy, wait until corporate declares that pay is too high and sends people home until theres two people on the floor. It was a nightmare having to work the counter and the window while everyone was screaming and berating you for not being capable of being in multiple places at one time. ... Copied to Clipboard!

if anyone laughs i'll just say, "fuck you, i taught high school for 5 years and have a bachelors. im just here to pass time."Thats fair enough. You honestly can make some bank working there if you prove youre one of the best workers on the floor. If you have a military background, you will probably just laugh off the bullshit and do fine. My bad experiences, to be fair, were when I was in my late teens, so I couldnt handle things as well as I probably could now. If I went back now, I would probably have a blast. go to the restaurant youre thinking of applying to at a rush period and see how they handle it. If its crazy and everyone is overworked and stressed, maybe try a different fast food place ... Copied to Clipboard!

I made this mistake at my old restaurant.
Age 20: Worked there while in college. Majority of workers were 18-25ish (which is rare imo). Work ethic was great for most workers. Lots of employees scheduled, 8-9 people in grill area and another 8-9 in drive-thru/front counter during the lunch rush hours. I had a blast but quit after two years and three months to focus on school. Some of the best times in my adult life just having fun with my coworkers and hanging out with them outside of work. Age 30: Reapplied as a summer job to make some $ before heading back for a post-bachelor's certification. Majority of workers were 30+. Work ethic was almost nonexistent. Fewer employees overall. Lunch rush was horrible with 4-5 people in the grill area and 6-8 in drive-thru/front counter. Scheduling after 7 pm sucked. My scheduled hours were 11am to 7pm. Never clocked out until 8pm because they didn't schedule enough people at night. I lasted two weeks before I put my two weeks notice in. ... Copied to Clipboard!

If you get hours, the money can add up. Fighting for the hours was the issue where I was, but I was getting about $1200-1500 every month when they realized I was one of the best both up front and in the back.
They will try to make you become a manager, but thats a commitment. Make sure you learn front and back because that increases your chances of being called for extra hours. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I was always the cook and always closes, so I got hours. Can't do that any more though, can only close like twice a week now. I'm going to tell them no Sundays also. If they work with me, I will do it. A lot of younger people there from what I saw.
