I know theme park rides aren't canon (then again it is the MCU) but to me this looks like long term Peter Parker is gonna be treated as a Tony Stark replacement since the pitch of this ride is Peter Parker pitching some Spidey tech.

I don't understand how this would mean "The MCU isn't really a fan of secret identities" or that "Peter Parker is gonna be treated as a Tony Stark replacement"

They already revealed his identity; and his identity is one of the most guarded secrets in Marvel.

Obviously they threw that shit out the window.

At this point none of the heroes in the MCU use secret identities and arguably the hero that uses those sort of plotlines the most is already ditching it after already not really using it all that much so far.

The storyline of the ride is Peter Parker pitching new tech to the visitors of the park with what looks to be his own tech company. They're probably aiming for this to tie into Peter's future position in the MCU.

Just an observation really.

Ohhh. They could lean into the company from Superior Spider-Man. He did make his own tech company afterall.

Doesnt mean its the same though. We was flat out outted by Mysterio.

I mean he is supposed to be a genius-type kid and went to a specialized school in the MCU, so it kind of makes sense that hed be the new Tony Stark of sorts.

Also no one really has secret identities because of what happened in Avengers 2 and Civil War. The Accords kind of take that all away. Plus, the end credit scene of Far From Home tells everyone who Spider-Man is because of Mysterio blabbing to JJJ.

Ultimate Spider-man had it so that basically everyone in SHEILD knew who Peter was but he still tried to have a normal life so I wouldn't say it was completely ruled out until the end of Far From Home which honestly did already confirm to me that it wasn't really something they're interested in for the character. Even Homecoming ended with Aunt May finding out which is a rather big departure especially that early on.

I dunno like I get it but MCU Spidey is sort of missing that everyman element about him compared to most adaptations I'm used to. But I suppose things are different when the universe isn't really focused around him and his life.

MCU doesn't like secret identities and it doesn't like masks.

This part is annoying. I understand it's an excuse to show the actor's face while they're still in costume, but there are limits. A hero should wear a mask in the majority of action sequences. If they don't like hiding top talents behind masks, they should higher unknowns.

If they don't have an identity to protect there's no logical reason for them to wear a mask.

It's kind of interesting in a way. Superhero movies and stories all before the MCU were all about the duality between being a person wanting a normal life and being a superhero. MCU just hasn't really gone for that at all. There is no real divide between the superhero and the person for any of the characters.

I agree. The only reason IM and Cap made sense to wear their masks at this point was head protection (which they didnt need). Spider-Mans mask is literally to protect his identity and nothing more; but he wears it even though people know who he is. It's kind of sad tbh. I love the MCU but the lack if regard for secret identities is kinda fucked.

DC was always more hardcore about it though (Batman and Superman are prime examples).

Yeah it's gonna be weird to think how it'll impact future movies. Why would Peter wear a mask if everyone knows who he is? Probably because his lenses have some tech like Iron Man? Meh.

Spidey's mask serves a purpose though. It was explained in Civil War.

I wasn't specifically referring to Spidey there as I don't think that poster was. I think he means that barely any of them really wear a mask much at all.

Ah. I don't think Peter Parker is being treated as a Tony Stark replacement, though. He's already supposed to be really smart with technology and has been pretty close to Tony Stark in the MCU. It just makes sense that he would work with technology, imo.

If that theme park ride is any indication he's gonna be selling advanced tech to the public just like Stark was. I get that Spider Inc is a thing in the comics but damn this Peter just seems way more privileged than the other adaptations I'm used to. I'm used to Parker being a smart kid who overall has to sacrifice his potential career to be Spider-man. That outright isn't gonna be a thing for MCU Spidey.

Of course it's possible the theme park ride doesn't indicate anything but I dunno. This seems to be pretty specific to me.

Peter's identity can still be intact. There's a pretty easy way to cover that after what Far From Home's ending did.

It's possible but I think the theme park ride implies that they're gonna make him be public with it.

Its a theme park ride. Dont think too hard about it. >_>

That said, if they wanted to, they could just copy what DC did with Batman and have Peter publicly be known as the designer of Spider-Mans tech, but still insist theyre two different people. >_>
