Was he technically able to kill Palpatine, Yoda, Mace etc. in ROTS and only lost to Obi-Wan due to fighting someone who knew him best?

Or did he get significantly more powerful when he became Vader and got further training from the Emperor? Did he ever exceed him in power?

His appearance in a certain video game seemed to indicate a level of power that is higher than anyone else I have seen from the series so I do kinda think if he really wanted to he could have killed the Emperor long before ROTJ. Although his machine suit was certainly a drawback.

He wasn't stronger than Palps at the time, but deffo would have been within like five years at ABSOLUTE most.

This. If he hadn't gotten burned up at Mustafar he would have been way stronger.

How strong was Dooku supposed to be? He seemed to hold up pretty well against Yoda. So that would imply he's up there with the Jedi Masters and Anakin quite easily trounced him in ROTS once he set his mind to it.

But I guess that was also his biggest weakness. He usually isn't capable of that until he loses his humanity.

Although I've always believed he was stronger than Obi-Wan when they fought and only lost because he had given in to his anger

Palps was always stronger and then Luke surpassed him in ROTJ
