More than likely, MechaGodzilla is the one doing all the rampage. Mecha will be the one who falls after Kong and Godzilla team up.

In the novelization (I believe) there's a part from Kong's PoV where he basically just ignores everything because it's not threatening him directly (at that time) lol

Yup. The only thing he did was keep the skull crawlers in-check after they tried answering Ghidorahs call. Aside from that, he didnt care about what was happening off of the island.

I dont think the license is the issue tho. Shin Godzilla and the Netflix anime came out after the first Legendary film, and another anime and supposedly another Toho film universe are already in production. >_>

All in all I'm disappointed that MechaG is actually visible in the trailer

One can grasp most of the plot just by watching that

The only question is whether it's MechaG wearing a Godzilla skin who Kong is fighting or its the real Godzilla who is being manipulated to go berserk by some nefarious organization who probably built MechaG

All to push the kaiju are dangerous so they must be destroyed angle

So this is really the monster version of BvS.

prediction: Godzilla and Kong team up to face the larger threat that an out of control mecha godzilla presents.

they beat mecha together and resolve their differences. The finals shots of the movie are Godzilla walking into the sea, you can see the horizon, and Kong roaring on his island.

Don't get me wrong that punch to the face was epic, I rewinded it like twice lol but still this trailer makes it seem like its a King Kong movie where the bad guy is Godzilla getting his ass kicked.

Pretty sure that's the real Godzilla. But the reason the trailer is biased in Kong's favor is because since the moment this was announced, most fans were saying he doesn't stand a chance, it's a non-fight, etc. In order for this to be successful, they have to show that Kong is a legit contender and the fight could go either way. This trailer does just that.
