I see a lot of people saying it was clear that they just meant 1400. But that isn't the case. The ring of 2000 dollars kept coming up. If it was just 1400 extra dollars than they should have just said that. Because honestly a check for 600 then another check for 1400 months later would never normally be treated like one lump 2000 dollars.

It needs to be $2000 per month so that people arent leaving their homes until the virus is contained. What on earth is the point of a one time check? People arent paying off 6 months rent with this crap. This is just like the NFL and NBAs covid protocols. Is this the Twilight Zone? People really thought it was going to be $600 then $2000 more and not $600 then $1400 more to make it out to be $2000? What the fuck?

Some of the messaging out there said $1400, and some said $2000. I don't have a link handy, but I saw a lot of the $2000 messaging. It's fine if you didn't and are surprised by the "confusion", but there is a reason people were thinking $2000. Honestly, it needs to be $2000 or more. A ton of Americans are struggling right now in no small part because of the government's complete inability to handle the pandemic properly. American citizens were given $600 almost as an afterthought in the giant relief/spending bill and plenty of people are pissed off about that. Politically and practically, the Democrats need to make good on their promise of helping voters monetarily. Plenty of people saw $2000 and that's what they are expecting. It isn't just about paying rent, it is about jump starting the economy.

I can see some delay in getting the money out because of the coming trial in the Senate, but it needs to happen soon.

Make a standalone $2k bill and send that shit out. That is if they want to retain the increased turnout of voters for the next elections.

Btw whether it be $1.4k or $2k, it is still barely anything. The people deserve more.

It quickly went from 2000 checks will go out the door immediately, to oh we meant finishing the 2000, and now it won't happen until March, to oh actually we meant April. Even the measly dogshit that Biden was offering in his campaign is going to be watered down into so little that the GOP makes huge gains in the mid terms and Trump gets re-elected when even less happens the second half.
