Like, the characters being ethnically Japanese according to lore (which doesn't make sense I think because of Solid Snake's origins, no?) or... the fact that a Japanese company created them?

Ken's nationality is American but he's actually like 3/4 Japanese. Father is half Japanese and mother is a full 100%. That blond hair of his is dyed.

Solid Snake isn't Japanese. He's half Japanese as Big Boss's DNA was inserted into eggs donated by a Japanese woman. Big Boss is all American.
