Some people just dont believe in tipping. I guess it depends on how the waiter or such has done their job. Which can make sense but there are some people who wont ever tip no matter the quality of their server. So what is your stance on that?

I tip when eating at restaurants and for delivery, but I get really annoyed when I'm ordering for pick-up and the website tries to select a tip by default.

Yes. Helps I'm a bartender. People don't stiff as often as you think but lately it feels like people are trending down to 10% tips for just about anything and that sucks. Wish we didn't have to work for tips but any hope of that changing died with the pandemic. Now this industry is one of the hardest hit; on main street here 4/14 places closed for good and counting.

Are you offended if people give you a 10% tip on beer? Having never been a bartender, I could see the argument that pouring a beer is not nearly worth as much tip as making a cocktail

I am not one to actually think through my tips like this at a bar, usually i just throw in 20%, just wondering

Never, by default. Even when stiffed. Only people who want to get fired instantly go on those social media crusades or worse yet, call after the customer as they're leaving, to confront them. Is it annoying? Yeah. But the next customer is right behind and if you treat them as well and roll the dice, could be new regulars.

For what I consider tipping etiquette;

Table/Bar Service: 15% Standard, 20% Good, 25%+ Great/They did you a solid. Unless they spit in your mouth and scream obscenities, don't go below 15%.

Pickup: If I call in an order, get there, get handed a bag and leave I'll usually give them a couple bucks cash if I have it. Never expect to give or receive a tip here.

Delivery Driver: Yes, grubhub/Uber eats/doordash etc all suck and the fees are insane and all that shit. It's not the place you're ordering from's fault at all. They're cannibalizing the market. You should still always tip your driver 20%.

not a stickler for a tipper

I'll give 15 percent normally but my coworkers who give 5-7 bucks for a less than 20 dollar take out order make me feel like a clown. I tend not to tip on the ipad

I think I've always tipped too. Don't remember a time when i was at a diner or such when i didn't leave one. But really there are people out there who won't ever leave one no matter the service. And thats crappy
