Never played it before

I like the (admittedly hamfisted) attempt to give Jen a lot of character in the opening

We've learned she is tough but vulnerable, is a bit dim , had a rough childhood, parents got divorced and she's trying to get her life back on track with her boyfriend who she loves.

That's more personality in 3 minutes than Abby or Ellie had in 30 hours of Last of Us

I like the character design too,although she comes across as high with how easy going she is about this crazy shit

I fucking love that game.

Combat is a bit wonky and some enemies/groups are bullshit, but omg. The two main characters are great together, the places you go are very solidly themed and have their own charm and history, gameplay and puzzles are simple but satisfying, everything's written decently well to pretty good, the music isn't extremely noticeable (besides the combat music) but it's still enjoyable and even the silent spots are atmospheric. And the MCs get good character development!!!

It's just a very fun, very solid PS2 adventure/puzzle game.

The only weak spot to me in an otherwise near-perfect game is Jen's love interest. What an ugly, annoying, dork loser. Though I do like the damsel in distress gender reversal they have there.

Theres already been a lot of neat little touches off the bat but I hate how everything is contextual

Feels needlessly restrictive that we can't jump around or swing torches

Compare to something like Tomb Raider or MGS2

Well I just got a game breaking bug

Jen somehow glitched through a "2 man" gate and there was no way to get her back

Luckly I'm an experienced enough gamer to keep several save slots so I've only lost some progress but without autosave or any kind of chapter restart, if that had happened to someone else, it could have totaled their entire run

I've encountered completely invincible enemies and one time I ran right through a wall in a cave and couldn't get back out.

So yeah, remembering to save periodically is a good idea >_>

Oh for fuck sake

It's another game breaking bug. The doors on the balcony to the ballroom are closed. They are supposed to be open. How do I know that? Because I looked up an FAQ, If I hadn't, I would have been stuckforever.

Now I have to reload a save AGAIN to continue the game

That's twice now the game has had a gamebreaking bug and this time I didn't even know. I was just wandering around corridors aimlessly.

One plot point I don't get it why is the God of Chaos getting stronger the more realms we save?

Surely he should be getting weaker?

And if all you had to do was stab Chronos why not do that right off the bat?

At the Volcano boss and it went beserk

The Boss's entire upperbody vanished so I could only see his legs. So I didn't know WTF he was doing

Then the game crashed

Starting to think either the PS4 port is a mess or this game was terribly made.

I know they foreshadowed it earlier but "Now he's not an interesting gargolye he's a badass uber muscular kickass generic warrior guy" is kinda lame as a character arc.

Scree was a cool character.

Woop beat the final boss.

Boss idea was A for effort but D for execution

Rival fight with Lewis is a good idea but they didn't build it up throughout the game to be climatic, it was easy as hell and janky as fuck that it kept having to cut to loading screens to go to the next part of the fight.

Would have been better if there was a mortal kombat style cutscene where you brawled to the new arena in you new form rather than teleported there.

Same as Scree's final fight. Good ideas but it was so easy to the degree of being pointless.

Game had some really fun ideas and charm but man it was a mess. I feel like it was rushed out. The game seems like a beta. So much stuff is janky and poorly thought out

Edit: Also I am not going after all the Tarrot cards lol

I was exploring the levels and still missed a bunch of them
