Notice how when Steam was the only (real) game in town, they did fuck all to develop new games/improve their platform.

Now that they have a bit of competition, they were forced to get off their lazy fucking asses and now we see that rich fuck game newell actually taking interviews and pushing stuff out the door.

I pick up a free game there once a month or so. I have about 20 or so. I have like 2 of them installed.

I started moving from console into PC gaming in 2018-19, and I'm finding myself using EGS more than Steam. All the free games and cupons have made sure of that.

I also run GamePass on PC on and off depending on what's on that month, got three months for 1 dollar. This weekend I'll be playing The Medium :)

I pretty much agree with fake Vegy this one time

I didn't really care about the Steam vs. Origin vs. Uplay etc exclusivity wars, but when Epic popped up and spammed my inbox with login attempts from random parts of Asia after I made a Fortnite account I'm now hardcore anti-EGS. I'll either wait a year for a game to stop being an EGS exclusive or just not buy it at all

Steam was never a monopoly.

Also, if Epic want to compete with Steam then they should have all of the features that Steam has right now. Not Steam back in 2004. Where's the forums, where's the reviews, where's Big Picture, where's customisable controller options, where's Linux support, etc...

Yeah man Epic not having a shopping cart is such a deal breaker. I never knew not having a shopping cart was such an earth shattering deal breaker until I saw that Epic not have it. It's just insane... shopping carts are what keeps me going. I found my calling.

I didn't mention the shopping carts. I brought up the things that actually matter. Epic's client is so barebones compared to pretty much any other service. But at least it works (unlike the Windows Store)
