I felt nothing when they gave it to me and feel fine now. The news was lying their asses off about it being bad. It is fine.

If you're worried, take a bottle of water, worst I felt was a slight buzz, like drinking a beer or having a blood sample withdrawn. Honestly, giving blood is worse.

The news is talking about the worst-case scenarios. Every vaccine has the odd adverse reaction, and some covid vaccines seem to have slightly higher rates of it than normal.

"Slightly higher than normal" is still sweet fuck all, and in particular far, far lower than the chance of adverse reactions to, y'kno, the actual virus itself.

Dude, there HAVE been genuine, legitimate reports of adverse reactions. That's not fake at all, and it has been on the news. It's just important to consider them in the wider context, in particular how rare they are (and how much less severe than the virus they are), instead of immediately losing your shit because a few hundred people, out of about 30 million who've received the vaccinations altogether, had side effects.

I got my first dose two weeks ago. Sore arm for a day but no other problems

i'll take a hurt arm for 3 than deal with the possible effect of "fucked up lungs" for the rest of my life.
i'll take some advil if i have to. that takes the edge off the pain if/when i get the vaccine (in the last group unless they say high risk over 30).

My understanding is that it's recommended not to take painkillers for that kind of side effect, as it can interfere with building up the immune response. However it might only be specific ones, so double-check this rather than blindly relying on it.
