Nevermind the rock music that was total trash and the disco music that was pretty good, and the subtext of disco/dance/funk music stemming from black musicians and being popular with non-straight, non-white crowds. The problem with some fart-brained boomer shitting on modern music they don't like is that there is music they'd probably like if they looked for it. There's a real sense of entitlement and narcissism to people who take a position of "this music is indicative of society's decline!" - it's annoying, and the people who engage with that are fucking morons.
