I feel like contrapoints literally released a video like a few days ago literally saying about how arguing shit like this is a trap to distract from the real problems because you waste time arguing about what a woman is and what transgender is instead of arguing about whether or not Jim's identity is valid.

Jim's identity is valid. It's valid if they want to consider themselves transgender. It's valid if they don't want to consider themselves transgender.

I don't even know who the flying fuck that is (I do know the name though. I know I've seen that name before). I watched a bunch of videos that a trans woman made and and Jim Sterling was all over the comments, but mostly comments by transphobes and I got the impression they were all using this situation as an excuse to transphobically troll, even though I didn't even know what "this situation" even is. I don't know where I stand myself. I haven't really ever felt binary but I don't know enough about what constitutes non-binary to know where I fall on the gender spectrum tbh.

If it doesn't effect your life, who cares? I mean, Id think the goal would be to just get to the point we can freely he who we feel and like who we like without labels. If you like this person, go for it. If you feel more like a certain lifestyle, embrace it. The labels just acknowledge we're different for these reasons. When really, it's just a very minor part of who we are. We should be judged based on the way we treat others and everything else should be far second. As long as you're treating everyone with respect, there's no reason you shouldn't be who you want while doing that

It pisses me off because there is this implication that my penis is supposed to determine all of these things in my life when in reality, it's just a dick. Half the population has one. Like... fucking get over it. If there is a conflict between my dick and my brain, my brain will win in every single case and it won't be a competition. I probably sound cringey as fuck right now but dude some of the shit I read online is just... Like there is a reason I'm willing to be open about this kind of shit :P (and to be fair, I always have been.

I wouldn't say that I have feminine traits per se, but I definitely feel like I'm between masculine and neutral, with aversion to certain elements of the masculine and more of penchant for the neutral.

What perplexes me most about it is the one person who got the biggest reaction from me about that is my father. He went off on me several years ago and said shit like that and went off on him right back twice as hard and mentally broke him. It's been 4-5 years and I severed contact. I was done. There had been other issues much earlier but after that, I had to cut him off, and my brother did too. Neither of us has spoken to him since... and the weird thing is that he's always been more emotional than either of us. He's not one of those dumb fuck "durr durr boys/men not allowed to cry" types, I had seen him cry many times and he never preached that horse shit to me. Still, enough was enough. The point is that I snapped that night and while I held myself back and maintained my composure to a degree, I don't know that would if it happened again. I saw him a few times since and it was not comfortable. I struggled to find topics of conversation and I was constantly on edge because we were in a restaurant and he is super bipolar and will flip the fuck out on people over nothing (he went alex jones on a blockbuster employee once because she asked if he wanted to add an email address to his account. Like that's his normal...)

It makes me upset to even type it out, but upset in a good way, like this is my therapy as silly as that seems. I also spent 2-3 hours on the phone with him arguing about my brother because he thought he had stolen some fucking pendant from him, some I dunno pagan sword icon thing...and I had talked to my brother and my brother did have klepto tendencies and I was the one victimized the most... like I literally woke the kid up one time at 4 or 5 in the morning holding a sharp object to his neck because I came home from work and he had broken into my room and fucked around on my computer and my mother and stepfather thought there had been a break in and almost called the cops... so I was the last fucking person who should have taken my brother's side and believed him... but I did, because I read him and I read the situation and I knew all of that shit was behind him (he had been overly medicated and his meds had messed with him, which was fixed). My father didn't listen and the conversation ended in a stalemate. He later found his fucking necklace thing under his couch.

None of that has anything to do with gender specifically but that's been a common theme with me. Nothing in my life has ever really had much to do with gender in a traditional sense and when it has, it's been like "well wait a minute..." with me questioning shit because what many consider traditional or proper, I consider garbage or outdated or misguided, and I don't give a fraction of a fuck what early humans 100k years ago did lol. Like, that's no argument for anything. People who pull that shit need to let it go.
