I actually hope both sides keep obstructing each other. Neither side is trying to help anyone so the government doing nothing feels like the best outcome to me

Democrats want "bipartisanship" and "compromise" which means giving up 80% of what they advertised and reminding you that at least they're temporarily protecting you from Republicans until they lose again.

The both sides argument is dumb and just shows sheep tendencies. The alternative to "both sides" is showing blind loyalty to one group and only calling out the bad on the other side.

I agree with you, but there's no point because politics is so polarized now and has been divided into teams basically. If you aren't on one team than you must be on the other.

It's also true that people who say both sides are equally bad in this case are wrong. Democrats are clearly better than the Republicans right now.

The ultimate symbol of Republicans since 1994 basically is them delaying Merrick Garland's Supreme Court nomination and then hurrying to nominate Amy Coney Barrett despite the only real difference between these two situations being that they had less time to nominate ACB.

Basically a classless organization right now. And I am NOT one of the people here who say conservatism is evil.

Democrats were the least bad (viable) option and no sane person would prefer the modern GOP to them.

That said, the election is over, they have the power and advantage, its overwhelmingly fair to criticize their multitude of failings as a party.

The impossible dream is that Trumps legacy destroys the GOP and leaves an opening for a more left leaning party to rise up, so our options are at least left and right and not sorta moderate leftish and absolute lunacy. <_<

Really tho, "both sides" is the new "I don't see color". It's the"I don't actually know anything and have no confidence to talk about the subject but I still want to feel like I'm somehow smarter or more tolerant". They want to do none of the work but want all the praise others get for actually preaching progressive views. Obviously "I don't see color" has even more to unpack, but I just mean in this one sense.

People are usually saying that both sides suck, which removes any reason to care that one side is clearly better than the other. Basically the opinion lacks nuance, which ironically is also true of many partisan opinions.
