The opposing team will have enough time for a kick return and one hail mary deep in their own end (If your special teams didn't fuck up) which is a nearly impossible play to score on. You wouldn't even need to cover the receivers, you just run a three man rush and eight in deep coverage. The odds are so astronomically better just kicking the field goal that you would have to actually be an idiot to do anything else.
