Isn't Dr. Oz a tv quack?

Didn't he also say on tv that 2% child mortality was a fair price for open schools?

Wasn't that also shown to be an erronous reading of the dataset he cited even though he's supposed to know what he's talking about?

Seems a bit to go against Jeopardy's core values. I guess they never had any and it was just that Trebek was a permanent host that made them not do shit like this. Why don't they ask Dr. Phil next?

Jeopardy! celebrates knowledge and facts and Dr. Oz has largely broken from that in his medical advice, said Kristin Sausville, who won five games in 2015. Not super interested in Dr. Oz hosting a show about correct information, wrote Louis Virtel, another 2015 contestant. The mood on the Jeopardy! subreddit is, erm, something less than positive.

Hours after the news broke, I put out a call for former contestants to reach out with their thoughts on the host candidates; by Wednesday morning, dozens of responses had come pouring into my inbox. Can I say sucks? asked one. If so, Dr. Oz fucking sucks and so does the decision to let this crackpot host our beloved Jeopardy! One word WHY, wrote another. Said a third, Inviting Dr. Oz to stand behind Alex Trebeks podium is profoundly disrespectful of Alex and of everything Alex loved about the show.

I remember someone mentioned Dan Patrick as an idea for a host, and I think he would be a good host but I just learned that he's 64.

For reference, Alex Trebek was 43/44 when he started hosting Jeopardy. So that's what they should be looking for in a new permanent host, and Ken Jennings happens to be 46.

And nothing that Dr. Oz has shown in his career says he can do that. At all. He will make it about himself or make it political.

Which goes against the person who was the lifeblood for that show and made it one of America's longest running game show.

This isn't a difficult choice. Put Jennings in. He's the heir apparent. He's been apart of the Jeopardy family in some form or another for almost 20 years. He narrated Trebek's biography at Alex's request. He's already hosted the show before. They were fucking friends.

This is more than just reading questions and answers. It takes far more talent than that. Trebek has said for years the host should not be the focus. Oz has always made himself the focus. Jennings has not.
