How has your level of homophobia/racism changed since you were a kid?

I feel like a lot of adults, as of the crazy events of 2020 (and 2021), are more "woke" today and generally less homophobic/racist than they were earlier. This is because they see the damage that bigotry can do, and that innocent people get murdered as a result of it. It directly contradicts the notion that people become more conservative as they grow older.

Well, what do you think? I'm sure a lot of kids grew up saying "that's gay" or liberally using the n-word. Now that they know those things aren't tolerated in the workplace, do their minds evolve accordingly? Or are people still just as passionate in their bigotry as before, but perhaps more closeted now?

Much less. Realizing you're gay will do that to you.

Yeah though I was still pretty liberal as a teen. I'd say stuff like "that's gay" a lot like a typical teen of the time but I don't remember having any real resentment towards gay people. Well I did have a distaste for stereotypical flamboyant "gay culture". I don't know if that was a proxy for homophobia or just ignorance, as it took me a while to realize that many gay people don't engage with that kind of stuff. And it's still not my cup of tea but whatever, I can see more of the reasoning behind the expressiveness of it now.

Sort of? Whatever prejudice I had kind of evaporated when one of my friends came out when I was 16 or so. Also, I was a teenager in the '90s.
