Idk people are saying it looks dated and juvenile but thats what the skinny jeans look, looks like to me so who knows what is right anymore.

I think the starkly contrasted faded jeans in the other photo look dated, but skinny jeans as a concept can be fine

Nothing wrong with my jeans. I see you have a problem with my hat, jeans and probably anything I post though. Save yourself the bother and don't post. Although I am curious what handsome skinny guys wear?. I need to feel validated.

They certainly work for me. I'm not one to wear ripped jeans.

So you ask our opinions, but you only actually want it if it agrees with your preconceived notions?

I've no issue with what folk think of my hat hence the topic. The rest is added research.

the coat is great, and more the style to go with. the hat is definitely on the outdated/young side. either one. it kinda says "i sell weed at my mom's house" :P

don't feel bad though. i wore some stuff i probably aged outta. one day i went through my clothes and gave that stuff to my younger cousins.

the hat itself without the flaming skull picture would be fine. like if it was plain black.

I just think the faded look is a bit dated, but not terrible (not at all hat level). An all dark wash would be better or just something not so starkly contrasted.

Lots of other people were talking about the jeans and blanket saying skinny jeans were bad which I disagreed with. Didn't realize jeans were off limit since there were lots of posts about them.

Also I said the other hat and especially the coat were nice :p

I wear black skinny jeans too! I admit I don't keep up with the latest fashion but also didn't know wearing faded jeans is "a bit dated". This might be a country thing though as nobody has ever said that to me. Some have actually said they like my jeans and others wear them too. I've had several people say my coat is nice though. I admit I do like it myself and it keeps me warm. Handy when being British! Still I just wear whatever I please providing I think I look good in it and it's comfortable. Constructive criticism is fine though and I now see that's what you are doing. Thanks!

Don't listen to such people they don't know anything about fashion. The classic faded jeans look never went out of style. Thats why its classic. If anything the more distressed/ripped style did for some time but thats back with a force now. There's a high end brand called Amiri that specialises in the punk rock style faded + heavy distressed jeans. I don't like that style myself but their stuff goes for over $1000 easy per pair and always sells out.

I said STARK contrast faded not all faded. I looked at Amiri and they don't have anything like

https://i.imgur.com/7ZHuQgL.jpg

It's the dark and a full leg of almost white fade that I just don't really see anymore

Amiri has subtler or mixed fade, not blocks of white against a dark wash, which is I said still in fashion. Nuance, it's a thing.

But anyway it wasn't that big of a deal.

Sorry I didn't check back to see exactly what you said winter made it sound like you made a blanket statement so that's where I went from. He is quite sensitive you know. You're right that the stark fading thing was more of a fad. I remember wearing that stuff in college.

I've never been a fan of the ripped style but it's interesting to know those are back.

I can see why you might think that when not actually reading the conversation.

Didn't even know it was a fad in other countries tbh.

Yeah. It's not going to change anything and chances are as I get older more and more things I wear will be outdated. Providing I and your bf for that matter enjoys his look it isn't a big deal.

It was a big thing like 15-20 years ago I guess thats why she said it looks dated. It doesn't look bad though. And not reading her posts beforehand doesn't change the fact the post I quoted from you gives the reader the wrong impression. That she was dismissing faded jeans generally and attacking you. You are always super defensive. Shoulda remembered who I was quoting

Wow, some of you chumps are hard pressed. Honestly dude, wear whatever you want man. Don't listen to anyone else if you want to wear it, then more power to you. It's also kind of funny how you have these rock bands with their flaming skulls or whatever merch, and it's ok for them to wear it but all of a sudden if anyone wears anything remotely similar, they get shunned for it. Don't let anyone define your taste in style.

It's more he just hasn't bothered with getting enough new ones. He has better jeans and trousers (resisted saying pants since you're a Brit lol) that he wears but runs out of them and then wears the older ones. He recognizes they don't really look good but just hasn't taken time to replace them. It's difficult too, when we've looked, they're out of his size (tall enough and thin where the only waists that that fit are too short and the right leg lengths are too wide).

True. I know many folk who go for this "juvenile" style when they are older then me. I'm a fan of metal and the style isn't everyones taste but I like it. That's all that really matters. This topic is for nothing more other than research and curiosity. Mostly because I don't normally wear hats. They still feel weird to put on for me. Nobody here is shunning me though or at least I don't take it that way. They are answering a question I asked.... probably. IF it bothered me that much this topic wouldn't even be here. I'm way past caring what others think on what I wear as ironically I'm not some kid/teen who trying to fit into the latest trends or school mates. Still this topic is interesting to me as is the feedback. Research is fun.

Oh I don't buy clothes all that much. Those jeans in my photo were some of my most recent cloths purchases. I like them and others so too. Still I get complacent and think certain outfits work for certain things and I just put them on. It's a if it isn't broke, don't fix it mentality and laziness. I understand the plight of tall, thin people and cloths though. I have trouble and I'm 6'1". It must be even worse for thinner blokes who are taller.

You might have more trouble (or maybe UK makes it easier). I said tall enough since my guy isn't that tall. A bit under 5'11. Tall enough to run into issues lol at least in America with how our vanity sizing is.

(My ex was 6'5 and all that did was make him more dangerous and me more helpless so I don't really care for very tall men anymore)

Ah. Yeah probably a country size thing.

That sounds worrying. It certainly is a bad combination for someone who is already dangerous to begin with.
