I lived with a chef who actually felt hurt when i reached for the salt after he made me something.

He said it was because I reached for the salt before taking a bite but tbh 1) everyone's tastes are different and unless it's literally a degustation menu then you need to calm down chef and 2) goddamn chefs are sensitive fuckers aren't they, jesus

I've watched a lot of cooking shows with guys like Wolfgang and Ramsay, and they use a ton of salt. If the food doesn't taste seasoned then the chef did a shitty job.

I rarely ever salt anything, but the rare occasion I feel the need to it's because the cook is disrespecting me with their bland ass food.

I did this once like 10 years ago at one of those Japanese places where you watch him cook on the grill in front of you. The look he gave me...lol
