Ted Lasso

Just simply fantastic show and was a shining beacon of light last year during the ongoing pandemic era

Ted Lasso was fantastic but I watched it because I heard it was great

two that fit the topic description for me are Schitts Creek and Superstore

an example of a show I tried out of desperation that wasnt any good (imo) was Letterkenny

It's a real shame s-creek isn't on netflix outside US, I keep hearing good things about it.

As for shows that weren't any good when I tried watching, I'd say American gods. Just... unbearable to watch. Not at all what I was imagining or hoping it would be.

Yeah, it's very good. If you're American, you will likely need subtitles, because their accents are thick. But it's pretty good.

Likewise, a friend really likes the show and keeps insisting I watch it. Seen a few clips and it kinda reminds me of Boardwalk Empire or just general "prohibition era" type shows, of which I've seen plenty of movies about so not sure it does anything new or interesting enough to hold my attention.

Yeah, it reminds me of Boardwalk Empire too, but this is as good or better.

I've tried a lot of animated sitcoms lately, as a way of chasing the high from my King of the Hill watchthrough. By far, my favorite new one I've tried is Bless the Harts. Season 1 was fairly rough in terms of animation and dialogue, but I stuck with it because I liked the characters... and man, they have NAILED Season 2 so far. It's fantastic and criminally underrated.

Also tried The Great North and Duncanville, but didn't care for them at all, unfortunately.
