You smothereach other and forget how to appreciate them. Time away makes couples stronger when they come back. The mistake most people make is that they wait until they resent each other before taking time away. Then you're not in a place to inspire appreciation.

Having kids. Any couple that says having kids didnt cause a significant change in their relationship is lying.

Im not saying they dont love their kids or spouse still, but it 100% changes the dynamic of your marriage. A perfect couple could have kids and be a great family but absolutely lose any intimacy or closeness between each other.

That doesnt make either person a bad husband or wife, bad parent, etc. It just means they change in various ways where that perfect love becomes more of a secondary consideration compared to the kids. That is also the nicest way of putting it and the best you could hope for IMO.

On average theres all kinds of time apart from work and schedules and being unable to be intimate or spend time doing hobbies you may have once enjoyed doing together. On top of the lack of sleep, potential anxiety, financial stress, schedule changes, feeding and attention, mental health concerns from those things, and of course actual health issues related to having kids or as a result of that cause which can cause anger, resentment, or distance between couples.
