Realistically I'm probably just gonna keep my current one until either it dies, or there's something I need to do on it that it can't do at an acceptable speed (or at all). That's what I've done with all my past ones. But I like to complain about it.

I'm not in the US, so I don't get any Biden Bucks. And if I did, that wouldn't change that a new PC would still cost me... well, not $1000, cause US$ is stronger and PCs are cheaper there, but still.

What do you currently have? Maybe you can do small upgrades for now?

Nah, laptop at the moment. If I had a desktop I'd be taking this route already.

I do need to have a laptop, but good desktop + weaker laptop is perfectly workable. I already basically use my main laptop as if it was a desktop, and have a secondary (smaller) laptop for actual laptop use, so the only difference would be using a literal desktop.

I don't play intensive games on it. I haven't run into anything gaming-wise that this current one (960M) can't handle. It's more that, when the current generation's i3's / Ryzen 3's are more powerful than my i7, it's time to upgrade. Also my current one literally has DDR3 RAM. >_>

That GPU would be fine for me - at absolute most I'd go for a 2060 - but I'd want 10th gen i5 or 4th gen Ryzen 5 at least.

Basically - GPU only has to be "good enough", but I want a pretty solid CPU. Not overkill, but solid.
