If he got a bill from Congress it would most likely be much more inclusive, but if he did an executive order it may be a lot more restrictive (possibly only forgiving undergraduate loans as well)

Over 25% of students go to private colleges and it's pretty arbitrary to exclude them when they also get federal loans.

Also their tuition is usually more even with scholarships.

Im not against private universities as a concept, but really they arent needed because a community college should be internationally recognised which is basically all you need for 99.999% of jobs people with higher education would want to apply for.

Why are we still protecting bankers? They gave predatory loans to literal children. They dont understand how compounding interest rates can turn a $20k loan into paying back $100,000. This is predatory lending. They also didnt realize that the bottom was going to drop out and that salaries would turn into wages while these kids were in school trying to study for high paying work.

(No, I dont and never did have college debt, but this is my view on rich bankers ruining the lives of young people before they even get in the workforce).

Yeah! Fuck the Covid vaccine too. Isn't fair to those who already got it and died. Ban the polio vaccine too. FDR did without the use of his legs, so can you. In fact, get rid of crutches and wheelchairs. Not everybody can afford them, so nobody gets them.

People who have "sacrificed for years" were paying tuition that was like half of what it is today. Shit goes up like 7-12% per year.

They should forgive a certain amount (10-20k) and then make any and all government loans for school interest-free.

This, but for people that went to private ones that got a federal loan, they should be eligible as well if this ever goes through.

To pick up on that - community colleges ARE great. And a trade or associates degree is nothing to shrug at. However, there are obviously plenty of jobs that would require bachelors or higher.

I mean aside from a few specific fields an AA is more or less worthless, but yes theyre a great affordable option to knock out general ed and prepare to transfer

That would be totally bullshit , it should be any accredited by school. That is how people get student loans due to accreditation, and many people got suckered in by for pro-fit schools some of which people like Bill Clinton endorsed.

that would suck for people like me that got suckered into a private art college but it's better than no debt forgiveness at all and letting an entire generation carry tens of thousands of dollars in debt before they even turn 25.
