I had Covid back in November 2020 and I was one of those who lost my smell and taste.

Less than a month ago I noticed that some things smell and/or taste different. Almost unpleasantly so.

My shampoo and body wash smelled really chemically with an odd afterscent of burnt garlic.

Food and drink also has this stale flavor from time to time.

I've become so sensitive to it that I get nauseous sometimes, especially when that smell gets trapped by my mask.

Anyone else notice this about themselves after recovering from Covid?

Going two weeks without being able to smell or taste really sucked. Everything was bland and I could only discern sweet and salty flavors.

I didn't start noticing this new sensitivity until about a month ago, which was 2 months after my recovery.

When did you have COVID?

I lost most of my sense of taste and had a burning sensation in my nose as if I were breathing in extremely cold air even when it was closer to 80 degrees, but both of those were day 8 things and were no longer a problem after waking up the next day.

That said, there are numerous cases of people experiencing what you are and some who after 6+ months never recovered their senses at all.

See it almost feels like a burning sensation too.

I feel bad for those who haven't gotten their senses back. Out of the milder symptoms that one is the worst to deal with.

The inability to breathe and dying are no cakewalks either I'd imagine.

I had it back in late July, no loss of smell or taste but I've been dealing with constant fatigue and a bit of brain fog since then.

March last year, huh. I swear it was the year before. Time is too fast.

A woman in the building is a smoker, so nobody thought much of the coughing and hacking. She declined to mention that she was feeling unwell. After around a week, she mentioned that she had been taking meds for fever and that she was feeling better. Around a day later I spent much of the day with a much faster than normal heart rate and a mild-ish fever that seemed to come out of nowhere.
