Have you?

I rented it from the local library on a whim once, I forget if I had heard about it in passing from someone once or if I legitimately just saw the title and was like "tf is this".

Great movie. Shame they never made any follow up (though I get why, boat filming is hard and even though it did moderately well at the box office, not near well enough to justify more boat filming)

Pretty good movie. Was the first thing I remember seeing Paul Bettany in, and him performing his own bullet removal surgery was pretty intense at the time.

I saw it not long after it released and found it incredibly boring. Might enjoy it more now though.

This is how I felt as a kid watching it in theaters. I also remember it didn't really have much of a plot or a proper ending. I only saw it that one time though.

Thinking back, I do remember expecting it to be funny like PotC (bc I was a dumb kid and it was a movie about old timey ships) but maybe that affected my enjoyment at the time.

It was a long time ago but I distinctly remember it being a really cracking good movie.

Has anyone seen the director's earlier Australian films? The Last Wave is this really neat apocalyptic thriller, and Picnic at Hanging Rock is absolutely one of the best movies of the 1970s. More haunting and spooky than most legitimate horror movies, even though it is not a horror movie. I've heard very good things about Gallipoli as well, though I haven't seen it.

That's a coincidence. I saw it for the second or third time yesterday. Hadn't watched it in years.

I really enjoyed that movie.

On a partially related note, anyone see that Greyhound movie?
