A couple that come to mind (from my dad) -

  • "Being brave doesn't mean you're not afraid, it just means you're willing to stand up and do what you have to do despite your fear" (when I was afraid to try Splash Mountain at Disneyland as a kid >_>).
  • Things can be cherished and used but they should never come before the welfare of others, and it's not worth getting upset over a scraped up car (when I pulled my dad's car out of the car port and tore a hole in the side, I was freaking out and he didn't care at all, just was happy I didn't get hurt).

  • Always looking 10 steps ahead will save you from plenty of inconvenient steps walking back. (think ahead)
  • Never treat someone like royalty unless they give you a pass to their court and treasure room. (avoid one-way relationships that exploit you)
  • A pretty package does not mean there's something worth keeping inside. (don't get hustled by a good looking face)
